I have had the Mr. Belvedere theme stuck in my head, it's annoying.

Nicole, Tuesday, 13 May 2008 13:23 (seventeen years ago)

the sekrit reason i started this thread is there's a sitcom butler i can't place to save my life, though i can SEE his face plain as day.. gray hair, long, pinched, creased face, sour expression usually, formal attire (i.e. no mr belvedere cardigans)

Tracer Hand, Tuesday, 13 May 2008 13:40 (seventeen years ago)

Streaks on the china,
never mattered before,
who cares.

When you dropped kicked your jacket
As you came through the door,
No one glared.

But sometimes things get turned around
And no one’s spared.

All hands look out below T
here’s a change in the status quo.
Gonna need all the help that we can get.

According to our new arrival
Life is more than mere survival
We just might live the good life yet.

ok. not exactly sitcom

the guy who played geoffrey in fresh prince later played a butler on the bold and the beautiful. his only back story was that he used to work for a beverly hills family.

i haven't seen it in a few years, actually, but now that we have the soap channel i'm so tempted. i secretly watched so many terrible soaps when i was growing up. my friend worked on one life to live recently, and i was so jealous.

I watched some young and the restless in the mid 80s when jill was a young ho stealing katharine's husband. other than that only BB.

BB has gone kind of crazy lately - Brooke's older brother Storm shot her youngest sister Katie when she mistook him showing a gun to Ashley(of y and the r fame) for him trying to shoot her. Really he was just showing her the gun he shot Stephanie with to prove he is A-OK to date. Anyway, sis and bro get in a struggle while Ashley, in a very unflattering halter top, looks concerned in the background then blam. Turns out the shot nicked Katie's heart and she needs a heart transplant STAT. Bridget, who has somehow gone from not having a medical degree to become the greatest doctor in the world over the last season, fails to find a heart so Brooke goes and says something crazy mean to her brother who then shoots himself in the head with the same gun he shot his sister with so she can use his heart in the transplant. Brooke saves the day AGAIN. Transplant works but sis wakes up all pissed about it. Oh and Nick Marone is dating Bridget but really wants to fuck transplant girl.

I dont think BB is on soapnet (is that the same as the soap channel?). They put the latest 4 eps on the CBS website though.

You know, I considered a career in butlering. I have to think that with (a) my law degree
(b) my cooking skill
(c) my classic taste in men's clothes

I'd be an ideal candidate. I would need to become proficient in at least one deadly martial art, though, as I don't have an accent to scare away the riff-raff.

eight years pass...

Unspoken rule: Butler must have the upper hand else tv/cinema are squeamish about depiction?
