Anyone noticed that if you try to send a mediafire link on msn you get booted? Doesn't happen with rapidshare or megaupload. Why is this?

Weird.
http://www.mediafire.com
and
http://mediafire.com
both get me booted, but not one other upload site does it!

I know. It's weird. Why would MSN block that and not others? Who owns mediafire?

Some people have said it sometimes happens with youtube links too.

Not sure how reliable this is:
YouTube now joins the list of blocked sites including eBuddy and MediaFire. eBuddy was supposedly blocked because of advertising messages when starting a new conversation, and MediaFire blocked to try stop distribution of the leaked Windows Live Messenger 9.0.

Fuck a MSN.

I know that "AIM" has "AOL" in it and "AOL" has "America" in it but come on people it's not like signing up for AIM means you are licking Bush's asshole.
― libcrypt, Wednesday, 14 May 2008 17:42 (seventeen years ago)
see i would, except I don't know a single person with AIM. It's hard enough trying to get people to switch from MSN to gtalk/gchat and everyone has gmail. Some of them even use their gmail acct as their MSN login. people are lazy.

Yeah I don't know anyone with AIM. And AOL have actually in fact stolen money from me, so fuck anything to do with them.

I have AIM but most of my friends use MSN.
― Herman G. Neuname, Wednesday, 14 May 2008 18:10 (seventeen years ago)
britishes have MSN and merkins have AIM so it seems
i has an adium :)
― DG, Wednesday, 14 May 2008 18:20 (seventeen years ago)
Adium definitely! One of the major bennies of AIM vs. MSN is that you can SMS via AIM. I don't think you can do that on MSN, can you? This became really useful for me when I discovered that my bassist who doesn't return calls, doesn't use IM, doesn't return email, etc., will actually respond to TXTs, so I have an actual chance of scheduling a same-day practice.
