Was think of doing a UK PM equivalent, but looking at Wikipedia it would basically be a fight between Jim Hacker and Francis Urquhart.

en i see kay, Friday, 16 May 2008 00:44 (seventeen years ago)

The Robert Redford character in 'The Candidate' (McKay? McCoy?) eventually was duly elected President, non? And then, in the last and most memorable shot in the film, he's on the steps of the White House having just been sworn in as Akela and he turns to his campaign manager and asks, 'What happens now?'

Lex Luthor, duh!

Dr. Superman, Friday, 16 May 2008 03:09 (seventeen years ago)

weird how many actors have had multiple fake prez roles -- shit, 3 each for Roy Scheider, Ronny Cox and James Cromwell (counting his turn as George H.W. Bush in that Oliver Stone pic).

Alex in Baltimore, Friday, 16 May 2008 04:01 (seventeen years ago)

If this is a poll about fictional presidents in general, why limit it to movies and TV? Like Huck pointed out, there have been several memorable presidents in comics: Lex Luthor, the two guys Transmetropolitan, etc.

Tuomas, Friday, 16 May 2008 09:01 (seventeen years ago)

Tuomas, there are 6 different listings on Wikipedia just for the named presidents and another page with unnamed presidents too. I edited the list down from 40+ pages to a manageable selection, as I didn't think people wanted a poll with six or seven hundred choices. If you feel really strongly about not being able to vote for Lex Luthor, or whoever, than feel free to start a new poll.

Billy Dods, Friday, 16 May 2008 12:56 (seventeen years ago)

Fred Nerk, Redford's character was elected US senator (D-Calif.).

Dr Morbius, Friday, 16 May 2008 13:12 (seventeen years ago)
