i will be drinking the champagne of beers but the cpc gangbangs show is at a particularly expensive bar where i don't know the bartenders so no shots for me. unless jim is there in which case it will probably be makers.

chicago kevin, Friday, 16 May 2008 20:51 (seventeen years ago)

i have the same issue sometimes with drink realities, bell_labs :/

rrrobyn, Friday, 16 May 2008 20:51 (seventeen years ago)

Patron or Sauza with extra limes and a bottle of Bud.

Laurel, Friday, 16 May 2008 20:53 (seventeen years ago)

Jim Beam and who cares what beer after that

kenan, Friday, 16 May 2008 21:27 (seventeen years ago)

chicago kevin, Friday, 16 May 2008 21:31 (seventeen years ago)

bottle of bud and jack

carne asada, Friday, 16 May 2008 21:34 (seventeen years ago)

Kinda surprised at all the Jameson shots being ordered here... it doesn't seem like a shooter at all to me. It's not that it's too finely crafted or aboue that kind of thing -- for pity's sake the word "Irish" is right there on the bottle -- it's just not quite that kind of liquor. It's closer to scotch on the nose and a bit of the wrong kind of burn going down. You want a shot to be red flame, not blue flame, you know?

kenan, Friday, 16 May 2008 21:34 (seventeen years ago)

well you don't have to shoot a shot, you can sip it. i don't take shots all at once anymore.

bell_labs, Friday, 16 May 2008 21:35 (seventeen years ago)

kenan, what the fuck are you talking about?

chicago kevin, Friday, 16 May 2008 21:36 (seventeen years ago)

xpost Hm. We don't get a lot of shot sippers 'round these parts. Say, where you from, anyway?

cuervo + Bud

gr8080, Friday, 16 May 2008 21:39 (seventeen years ago)

I haven't drank since January but prior to that it would have been Jamesons and either a Sam Adams or Guinness most likely.

ENBB, Friday, 16 May 2008 21:40 (seventeen years ago)

that's because you're making about as much sense as those dudes on the el who wear tin foil hats and blabber about the rapture.

xpost.

well... hard to call them insincere, anyway. :)

kenan, Friday, 16 May 2008 21:45 (seventeen years ago)

Yeah, I don't "shoot" shots. I sip them.

dell, Friday, 16 May 2008 21:47 (seventeen years ago)

jameson & bell's 2 <3ed - OTFM! For variety, Jameson could be alternated with Maker's.

Pillbox, Friday, 16 May 2008 21:50 (seventeen years ago)

jameson & tecate on tuesday
jameson & brooklyn lager on wednesday.
aquavit and lagunitas on thursday
_____ and ____ on friday?

ian, Friday, 16 May 2008 21:51 (seventeen years ago)

mookieproof, Saturday, 17 May 2008 08:01 (seventeen years ago)

no one i know does this thing? except in movies and stuff. do you drop the shot in the beer like an irish car bomb or what

max, Saturday, 17 May 2008 08:07 (seventeen years ago)

It's gross, so clearly in the Alcohol Challenge category. Unless you actually like the bastard child of the boilermaker and the cement mixer. You need half-pint of Guinness, shot of Bailey's. Combine, chug.

suzy, Saturday, 17 May 2008 08:10 (seventeen years ago)

no im aware of the irish car bomb its sort of a frat/boston thing at least at my school

max, Saturday, 17 May 2008 08:11 (seventeen years ago)

i just dont get this, when you order a shot and a beer at a bar, do you drop the shot in the beer and chug, or what

max, Saturday, 17 May 2008 08:12 (seventeen years ago)

also lets not make this like a MAX WHY HAVE YOU NEVER DONE THIS thing i just want to learn im only 22

max, Saturday, 17 May 2008 08:17 (seventeen years ago)

my dad claimed that when he was in the air force he was down south once and ppl were drinking tomato juice plus beer plus milk in the same vessel.

dell, Saturday, 17 May 2008 08:20 (seventeen years ago)

you don't have a rep yet? xp

mookieproof, Saturday, 17 May 2008 08:20 (seventeen years ago)

no you do not mix them. sip back and forth

jergïns, Saturday, 17 May 2008 08:33 (seventeen years ago)

As it was last night, so shall it be...

Beam and Sierra

Really, no worse hangovers than these for me, but they satisfy a certain need.

B.L.A.M., Saturday, 17 May 2008 14:31 (seventeen years ago)

my dad claimed that when he was in the air force he was down south once and ppl were drinking tomato juice plus beer plus milk in the same vessel.

THIS SOUNDS DELICIOUS AND NUTRITIOUS WAS THERE ALSO TABASCO INVOLVED Y/N

El Tomboto, Saturday, 17 May 2008 15:09 (seventeen years ago)

things i have dranked (once)

1. gin and milk

things i have dranked (many times)

1. irish car bomb
2. flaming dr pepper
3. cheap beer with hot sauce drizzled in it

El Tomboto, Saturday, 17 May 2008 15:10 (seventeen years ago)

and no, max, normally when you order a shot and a beer you do not drop the shot into the fucking beer, the beer is to chase the liquor with

El Tomboto, Saturday, 17 May 2008 15:11 (seventeen years ago)

I am really ashamed of the irish car bombs because thinking about it all you're doing with that is making both baileys and guinness taste even worse than they do to begin with and spending way more money than necessary on a half-empty glass of beer that you won't even enjoy

El Tomboto, Saturday, 17 May 2008 15:13 (seventeen years ago)

the flaming dr pepper is also basically an ass beverage but the theatrics and the garbage quality of the ingredients in their natural state makes it more acceptable

El Tomboto, Saturday, 17 May 2008 15:19 (seventeen years ago)

The other night it was Jaggermeister and Summit extra pale ale for me. Been drinking a lot of that Summit for some reason.

Then I stole absinthe from goth-phase roommate.

RabiesAngentleman, Saturday, 17 May 2008 15:34 (seventeen years ago)

I served many irish car bombs when I was a bartender but usually only to people who were drunk enough that they seemed a good idea. I don't think I've ever actually had one myself.

ENBB, Saturday, 17 May 2008 15:36 (seventeen years ago)

I don't understand 'em. They're okay, but it's just like, "my guiness tasted different and they made me chug it really fast, ugh". Are they really expensive? I've only had them when bought for me on birthdays and such.

RabiesAngentleman, Saturday, 17 May 2008 15:41 (seventeen years ago)

I'm told that a boilermaker (dropped in the mug style) with Jager and Guiness is "Black on Black Crime."

Oilyrags, Saturday, 17 May 2008 16:22 (seventeen years ago)

hahahaha I was just thinking "what would you call jager in guinness?" that's awesome, because it is a crime, and those are the colors of the drinks

El Tomboto, Saturday, 17 May 2008 17:01 (seventeen years ago)

Aftershock and (English) Cider - several of these in an hour is bloody lethal.

snoball, Saturday, 17 May 2008 17:07 (seventeen years ago)

The name is so awesome I want to try it even though I know it is a near guaranteed vomit-inducer.

Oilyrags, Saturday, 17 May 2008 17:26 (seventeen years ago)

Double Jameson on the rocks and a pint of Guinness.

jim, Saturday, 17 May 2008 17:56 (seventeen years ago)

Adams Ordinary and Rip Van Winkle Old Family Reserve Rye

Ed, Saturday, 17 May 2008 18:04 (seventeen years ago)

i have had a wisconsin lunchbox: Fill a beer mug with the beer and the orange juice, drop a shot glass full of Amaretto and drink fast.
i don't remember what it tastes like but seems like a big time sissy drink.

mizzell, Saturday, 17 May 2008 20:42 (seventeen years ago)

i think i did irish car bombs with spencer chow once

chaki, Saturday, 17 May 2008 20:44 (seventeen years ago)

did jack+pbr boilermaker last nite :-\

gr8080, Saturday, 17 May 2008 21:42 (seventeen years ago)

Makers Mark and Sam Adams
(Gotta go American)

calstars, Saturday, 17 May 2008 22:04 (seventeen years ago)

Once invented a drink called Grizzly Adams' Flaming Beard to punish a friend for moving away and leaving us. It consisted of (let me try and remember):

half shot of cheap vodka from rifle shaped bottle.
half shot of this german honey liquor with a bear on the label.
mixed in single shot glass and vigorously topped off with Tapatio hot sauce
dropped into a glass of Sam Adams (it was some dark, thick stuff)

We did it with him because it was the only way he'd take it. My first drink of the night and I had to step outside for some air because I thought I was going to barf.

RabiesAngentleman, Sunday, 18 May 2008 00:35 (seventeen years ago)

(he moved to Montana, incidentally)

RabiesAngentleman, Sunday, 18 May 2008 00:36 (seventeen years ago)

last night:

rail whiskey + PBR x2

the only reason to really do a shot and a beer is so you can catch up to people that are already drunker than you. four drinks in the time it takes to drink two beers.

gbx, Sunday, 18 May 2008 01:28 (seventeen years ago)

jameson with a water back, here.

rockapads, Sunday, 18 May 2008 01:38 (seventeen years ago)

i dont drink the hard stuff anymore but it was usually jameson and blue moon

Michael B, Sunday, 18 May 2008 02:35 (seventeen years ago)

jameson, bud light

strgn, Sunday, 18 May 2008 03:39 (seventeen years ago)

or as usual jameson on the rocks, pint of cascade pale.

S-, Sunday, 18 May 2008 04:14 (seventeen years ago)

Right now I'd like a gin and tonic.

franny glass, Sunday, 18 May 2008 04:27 (seventeen years ago)
