Ot possibly due to repeated attempts to register multiple spoof names on other users, this increasing greatly of late, also several multi-user sockpuppet accounts recently used for baiting other posters, one of which wound up being used by our weird seo/spammer/creep friend. (Funnily enough, after laying it out as to why I dont want this guy around last week, I've had repeated attempts to force in on my facebook account. Maybe this is a coincidence, but funnily enough a couple of users who've had disagreements with this guy recently have had email accounts taken out by backscatter spam shortly thereafter, I've heard. Maybe that's a coincidence too) So, you know, maybe it's not "heavy-handed modding", maybe it's us responding to people acting like complete fucking dicks.

yeah i figured that out after a while - there's no acknowledgement so I thought it could have just been that the registration mechanism was broken!!
