I am going to Hull for a week - in June. Hopefully it will be better than Leicester.
Recommendations for places to eat, places to drink, things to see. I don't have a car

Hull's city museums are pretty good, for a city its size. If you like that sort of thing, of course.

Mr Chu's isn't the best place to get to if you don't have a car, though, given that it's on an out-of-town retail park.
Whereabouts are you staying?

Prob going to be evenings rather than days that I have free but if you think theres particular museums worth looking at.
Food/Beer recommendations more keenly sought at this stage as I will be on expenses:)
Haven't booked a hotel yet - open to suggestions on that too

Oh come on. Don't make me defend Leicester, again.

There's a really nice Indian restaurant on Chanterlands Ave - the Bengal Tiger. It's a bus ride from the city centre, or probably about 30-45 mins walk.
Beer: my favourite pub is probably the Polar Bear, at the western (ie, non-city) end of Spring Bank. It used to be an exclusively gay pub, but is a fairly mixed crowd nowadays. There are a lot of "trendy bar" type places near it, on Princes Ave, and the student pubs are further north on Newlands Ave and Beverley Road (nearer the university, unsurprisingly).
The museums are: the Maritime Museum (formerly Town Docks Museum) in Queen Victoria Square, and two which are apparently nowadays called the "Museums Quarter" - they were formerly the Transport & Archaeology Museum.
I quite like Leicester, but I've never tried to live there. I'd say it's nicer than Hull, though.

Never lived in Leicester. Go there for work sometimes (ate at the Tiffin near the station is all I remember). I was southwest of the city mainly. The station is very small!
As for Hull....can anyone recommend anywhere to stay?
Hull is quite spread out isn't it?
