Should all be stabbed to death, y/n?
― Dom Passantino, Wednesday, 21 May 2008 14:36 (seventeen years ago)
with what kind of bayonet?
― s1ocki, Wednesday, 21 May 2008 14:39 (seventeen years ago)
LOL at Dom's 1st attempt to get banned!
― Mark C, Wednesday, 21 May 2008 14:40 (seventeen years ago)
LET'S ALL TALK ABOUT THE INATE FIGHTING ABILITIES OF THE GURKHAS
― Dom Passantino, Wednesday, 21 May 2008 14:42 (seventeen years ago)
I have a Gurkha knife (kukri) at home. I won it in a raffle. That's my entire collection of military memorabilia catalogued.
― onimo, Wednesday, 21 May 2008 14:43 (seventeen years ago)
Dom's 1st attempt? Seriously?
I'd revive a Ban Dom thread to contest that but I wouldn't risk the wrath of Pash.
― onimo, Wednesday, 21 May 2008 14:45 (seventeen years ago)
need to find that military plane pic thread with most of uk ilx 'enthusing', you'd have yr work cut out for you
― DG, Wednesday, 21 May 2008 14:45 (seventeen years ago)
not sure that counts as an "active interest" onimo. probably safe from a stabbing.
― Upt0eleven, Wednesday, 21 May 2008 14:45 (seventeen years ago)
It's a shite knife as well, I probably couldn't defend myself against even a novice military enthusiast. Good for opening letters though...
― onimo, Wednesday, 21 May 2008 14:46 (seventeen years ago)
It's just the worst shit ever to care about, and basically marks you out as either a) some streak-of-piss who'll never be allowed on a forklift truck let alone a Sherman tank having fantasies about not being the ledger clerk for a vending machine repair company in Farnham b) some heavily institutionalized ex-military nutjob who needs a hobby before he dies alone and unemployed by hanging himself aged 33.
― Dom Passantino, Wednesday, 21 May 2008 14:47 (seventeen years ago)
JUST BECAUSE I LIKE A GAME OF PANZER GENERAL EVERY NOW AND THEN IS NO REASON FOR THIS LEVEL OF PERSONAL HARRASSMENT I DEMAND A THREAD DELETION
― Noodle Vague, Wednesday, 21 May 2008 14:50 (seventeen years ago)

These zingers don't have a clue what happened at Stalingrad.
― Matt DC, Wednesday, 21 May 2008 14:56 (seventeen years ago)
I outgrew my fantasies of being in Napoleon's Young Guard around the age of 12, but still read military history.
― brownie, Wednesday, 21 May 2008 14:59 (seventeen years ago)
my mom collects old civil war shit (both union and confederate)
― Curt1s Stephens, Wednesday, 21 May 2008 15:13 (seventeen years ago)
People with an active interest in 'stabbing' people for random reasons stemming from intolerance and a childish desire to morally bludgeon others as away to assert their equality or superiority should be given some warm milk and their blanky and read a naptime story - or stabbed themselves. Your choice.
― Michael White, Wednesday, 21 May 2008 15:21 (seventeen years ago)
Anyone with an interest in military history is a racist. Fact.

Dom needs a hug. Maybe from Suzy.
― Upt0eleven, Wednesday, 21 May 2008 15:23 (seventeen years ago)
Wait I'm a FPS gamer type. I may be borderline stabbable here. I haven't read Commando for years, honest!
― onimo, Wednesday, 21 May 2008 15:23 (seventeen years ago)
CND folk always argued that you should have an interest in this type of thing in order to hold your own in an argument with, say, Max Hastings. There's nothing wrong pre se with an interest it's when people get all 'warm' at the thought of various weaponry that I start to drift off.
― Ned Trifle II, Wednesday, 21 May 2008 15:27 (seventeen years ago)
i agree its just that at that point i start to actually get disturbed
― deeznuts, Wednesday, 21 May 2008 15:28 (seventeen years ago)
btw collecting civil war memorabilia is not a stabbable offense crutis's mom
― deeznuts, Wednesday, 21 May 2008 15:29 (seventeen years ago)
She's probably got enough weaponry there to fend off random Internet attacks.
― onimo, Wednesday, 21 May 2008 15:32 (seventeen years ago)

People with an active interest in 'stabbing' people for random reasons stemming from intolerance and a childish desire to morally bludgeon others
What does this have to do with military history?
― Laurel, Wednesday, 21 May 2008 15:37 (seventeen years ago)
attack!
― DG, Wednesday, 21 May 2008 15:53 (seventeen years ago)
Hmm, guess I fall into Dom's kill list as I'm about to start on Lord Field Marshal Alanbrooke's war diaries.
― Billy Dods, Wednesday, 21 May 2008 16:08 (seventeen years ago)
As soon as I finish reading Jon Savage's 'Teenage' and Michael Palin's diaries.
― Billy Dods, Wednesday, 21 May 2008 16:09 (seventeen years ago)
I took War and Genocide in my final year of university. Does that make me stab-worthy?
― Upt0eleven, Wednesday, 21 May 2008 16:14 (seventeen years ago)
As long as there were no practicals
― Stone Monkey, Wednesday, 21 May 2008 16:23 (seventeen years ago)
I generally find Dom attains almost nabisco-like OTMness, but not in this thread.
― caek, Wednesday, 21 May 2008 16:28 (seventeen years ago)
As funny now was it was the 100000th time.
― Mark C, Wednesday, 21 May 2008 16:45 (seventeen years ago)
People who know all about current military affairs and are really annoyed about Labour cutting defence spending in real terms because of the impact it will have on the new aircraft carrier or whatever and who invariably have drinking buddies/old school friends who are in "HM forces" who they obviously envy despite the fact that they're just privates in logistics and are serving on a base in the Rhine = so incredibly fucking dud.
― jim, Wednesday, 21 May 2008 16:47 (seventeen years ago)
yeah man, he really tells it like it is, y'know?
― blueski, Wednesday, 21 May 2008 16:49 (seventeen years ago)
