Secret Basements vs Awesome Treehouses

I had my very own special playplace under the basement stairs.

i always liked those treehouses that the ewoks lived in.

I would make collages in the room under the stairs. I didn't realize spray glue needed to be used in a ventilated area. Once I figure that out, though, my horrible splitting headaches were less of a mystery.

no basements here, so treehouses by default (though they were never as cool as they looked on TV)

yeah a treehouse was basically my childhood dream. i had an old packing crate that had been left under a huge tamarillo vine in our backyard - that was about the closest i came to improvising.

omg it's hard to express my love for the basement. it feels safe, secure, fun (basement party while your parents are away fun)

And I should elaborate: I mean yr most awesome fantastical setup here, so no dingey drippy creepy basements or crumbly saddo treehouses - I'm talkin "live forever after nuclear blast" self sufficient dungeon homes, and Ewok awesome tree cities!

Basements make me feel sort of sick, now, since I recently lived in one (except I have fond memories of that one my cousins had in Indiana). Tree houses, definitely, since they are less common and have more fresh air and sunlight.

'Silence of the Lambs' wouldn't have been very good in a treehouse.

A treehouse with a secret basement in the ROOTS isn't it.

Secret basements are kind of rubbish from the outside by comparison.

I vote BASEMENT.

Also, surely some of those 'treehouses' aren't really treehouses any more but rather 'houses built in wooded area that happen to be raised slightly off the ground'. Which isn't exactly true to the spirit of the treehouse.

Treehouse treehouse! I've always wanted to live in a tree. The third picture that Nick posted is basically my fantasy home.

Drunk in a treehouse=plunging to serious injury or death

drunk in a basement=much safer

I'm a much more confident climber when I'm drunk.

"secret" is better than "awesome"

shld start saying 'secret' in place of 'awesome'

if i never had to go into a basement again i wld be happy
