Can one ask too much of the internet?

I often launch my browser with the hopes of navigating to some or other website whose contents will make me feel connected and/or relevant to the rest of the world and its inhabitants in some meaningful way. But then usually I just end up here. Any tips? I use Firefox.

The three things that I want from the Internet are: incisive unbiased current affairs commentary, horrid backstabbing zingfests delivered on a minute by minute basis, and pr0n. Two out of three ain't bad.

The sites that offer me the most consolation these days are like, Chowhound and the Hot Deals forum on Anandtech.com

every week i go on a music-"stealing" binge, and three-quarters expect that my latest hauls will save my life. at least the illusion works for a few hours.

i feel entitled to watch everything vaguely entertaining i ever remember seeing on tv/reading in a magazine/hearing on the radio. i feel cheated if i can't find it somewhere.

The other message board I look at is currently asking the big question of "What was in Marsellus Wallace's briefcase?" which makes me respond to this thread's question with YES, YOU CAN ASK TOO MUCH OF THE INTERNET.
