Had too many martinis last night, didja?

Oilyrags, Friday, 30 May 2008 14:49 (seventeen years ago)

fuck these cocktail sauce tasting motherfuckers

and what, Friday, 30 May 2008 14:50 (seventeen years ago)

I like mine strained. What we call a Shaker Mary. I can't stand when the ice melts and makes the tomato juice get all watery.

Michael White, Friday, 30 May 2008 14:51 (seventeen years ago)

Can of tomato juice, tabasco and worcestershire to taste, dollop of vodka. Stir and pour over ice and a celery stalk in a rocks glass. grind pepper and sprinkle celery seed on surface.

Consume with migas.

Oilyrags, Friday, 30 May 2008 14:52 (seventeen years ago)

i fucking love bloody marys

Surmounter, Friday, 30 May 2008 14:53 (seventeen years ago)

love these

deeznuts, Friday, 30 May 2008 14:53 (seventeen years ago)

brunch bloody mary vs. nightime bloody mary

Surmounter, Friday, 30 May 2008 14:53 (seventeen years ago)

Consume with migas.

key element!

actually i consume w/ any brunch food but would never think to drink them at night.

tehresa, Friday, 30 May 2008 14:54 (seventeen years ago)

i know i usually don't either, they don't taste as good at night

Surmounter, Friday, 30 May 2008 14:54 (seventeen years ago)

Yeah, after 3pm it's martini (or anyway non-bloody mary) time.

Oilyrags, Friday, 30 May 2008 14:55 (seventeen years ago)

make mine spicy spicy plz

elmo argonaut, Friday, 30 May 2008 14:55 (seventeen years ago)

Damn I want one of these, with a pickled green bean stuck in there.

pj, Friday, 30 May 2008 14:55 (seventeen years ago)

Yeah, I never have them at night, either. What think ye of the kind that come with loads of vegetables in them, pickled green beans and whatnot? A simple lemon wedge is sufficient for me.

Michael White, Friday, 30 May 2008 14:56 (seventeen years ago)

Oh shit, I forgot the squeeze of fresh lemon (or lime) juice!

Oilyrags, Friday, 30 May 2008 14:56 (seventeen years ago)

i like them spicy, too. and chunky. almost like gazpacho! but also non-food like ones are good.

tehresa, Friday, 30 May 2008 14:56 (seventeen years ago)

xtra spicy bloody mary + cayenne & lime juice is kickin
i want one

elmo argonaut, Friday, 30 May 2008 14:57 (seventeen years ago)

More recipes plz.

Oilyrags, Friday, 30 May 2008 14:57 (seventeen years ago)

omg with the lime/lemon, KILLER

yeah i dunno about all the vegetables LOL.

Surmounter, Friday, 30 May 2008 14:58 (seventeen years ago)

Ans: No. I don't like horseradish in my teeth.

Laurel, Friday, 30 May 2008 14:58 (seventeen years ago)

Yeah, too much salad in your bloody mary takes up all the space where your drinky drink should be. Sometimes you need that stuff, though for maximum sodium impact.

pj, Friday, 30 May 2008 14:58 (seventeen years ago)

salty drinks are so great

Surmounter, Friday, 30 May 2008 14:59 (seventeen years ago)

Ooh, horseradish. Maybe I better add that to my recipe.

Oilyrags, Friday, 30 May 2008 14:59 (seventeen years ago)

although i will confess that i will only have a bloody mary with salty / savory breakfast foods; confectionery things like pancakes or waffles etc, i will opt for the mimosa + topper of grand marinier or chambord

elmo argonaut, Friday, 30 May 2008 15:00 (seventeen years ago)

gah. Yeah, good idea. Pancakes + bloody mary sounds like trouble.

Oilyrags, Friday, 30 May 2008 15:01 (seventeen years ago)

What think ye of the Bloody Bull?

Michael White, Friday, 30 May 2008 15:01 (seventeen years ago)

exception: greek omlettes require a glass of ouzo, let's not fuck around now

elmo argonaut, Friday, 30 May 2008 15:02 (seventeen years ago)

michael, that is with tequila instead of vodka, y/n?

elmo argonaut, Friday, 30 May 2008 15:02 (seventeen years ago)

M - huh?

xp

Oilyrags, Friday, 30 May 2008 15:03 (seventeen years ago)

It's a Bloody Mary, essentially, with beef bouillon in it.

Michael White, Friday, 30 May 2008 15:04 (seventeen years ago)

Horseradish U+K. Also, pickled okra in the south. I guess Martinis, Bloody Marys and Margaritas are my favorite drinks but I can't rank them.

wanko ergo sum, Friday, 30 May 2008 15:04 (seventeen years ago)

i haven't had one for sooo long. this is because my new brunch place is japanese and does sake mimosas instead. usually this would be a dealbreaker but the food is just so great.

bell_labs, Friday, 30 May 2008 15:05 (seventeen years ago)

yeah margaritas are awesome, especially in the summer obv

Surmounter, Friday, 30 May 2008 15:05 (seventeen years ago)

i like 'em and so does willie.

tipsy mothra, Friday, 30 May 2008 15:06 (seventeen years ago)

Mods - I love booze sub-board?

Oilyrags, Friday, 30 May 2008 15:07 (seventeen years ago)

margaritas have to be really strong, because if i have to have more than 2 all the sour mix will make me puke.

bell_labs, Friday, 30 May 2008 15:07 (seventeen years ago)

lol NY maragritas

wanko ergo sum, Friday, 30 May 2008 15:08 (seventeen years ago)

I do just love the sodium content of bloody mary mix. Biggest number i've ever seen on a nutrition label.

call all destroyer, Friday, 30 May 2008 15:09 (seventeen years ago)

fuck all these mixes! JUICE, people!!!!!!

tehresa, Friday, 30 May 2008 15:12 (seventeen years ago)

it's true

Surmounter, Friday, 30 May 2008 15:13 (seventeen years ago)

I agree in principle, won't make me dig the BM any more.

call all destroyer, Friday, 30 May 2008 15:14 (seventeen years ago)

great on Sunday, b4 & after church.

Dr Morbius, Friday, 30 May 2008 15:14 (seventeen years ago)

Surmounter, Friday, 30 May 2008 15:15 (seventeen years ago)

During!

Michael White, Friday, 30 May 2008 15:15 (seventeen years ago)

elmo argonaut, Friday, 30 May 2008 15:16 (seventeen years ago)

I have never had a Bloody Mary.

ENBB, Friday, 30 May 2008 15:16 (seventeen years ago)

what?? get on it :)

Surmounter, Friday, 30 May 2008 15:18 (seventeen years ago)

sour mix is an abomination.

lauren, Friday, 30 May 2008 15:18 (seventeen years ago)

it scares me, it's like, what's going on in there?

Surmounter, Friday, 30 May 2008 15:19 (seventeen years ago)

FRESH bloodies are somethin else (someone must have said this already)

Surmounter, Friday, 30 May 2008 15:20 (seventeen years ago)

xx-post - I know! I should, right? We're going to Provincetown this weekend and will probably grab brunch Sunday before heading back. I'll make a point of ordering one then.

ENBB, Friday, 30 May 2008 15:20 (seventeen years ago)

Sur - sometimes you "say" phrases that remind me so much of my friend Adam it's kinda crepey. You two would probably love each other.

ENBB, Friday, 30 May 2008 15:20 (seventeen years ago)

but so you put the salt around the rim of the glass right?? i always find that kind of off-putting. i just end up w/ too much salt. and man i love salt so i wouldnt have thought that would be a problem

t_g, Friday, 30 May 2008 15:21 (seventeen years ago)

:-) en, it's funny you say that cuz i have another girlfriend who once told me the same exact thing about her friend adam. odd!

Surmounter, Friday, 30 May 2008 15:21 (seventeen years ago)

no salt, no cardiac problems plz

Dr Morbius, Friday, 30 May 2008 15:22 (seventeen years ago)

x-post What would be really weird if it was the same Adam.

ENBB, Friday, 30 May 2008 15:22 (seventeen years ago)

haha yes

Surmounter, Friday, 30 May 2008 15:25 (seventeen years ago)

(He's not from Boston but now in NY by any chance, is he?)
