so yeah, last night my boyfriend and I basically consumed a scorpion bowl (aka volcano lol xp) each at the local chinese restaurant, then went to the liquor store for ginger beer & dark rum for dark & stormies to drink at a bbq.

getting rum drunk is great, so soothing

soothing until you puke up your medulla oblongata

Rum + soda water + lime + ice

sort of a rum rickey minus the sugar. if you're into drinking good rum, it's the best. it lets the rum SING

i've never tried to make one myself. maybe a project for this summer.

i also like daiquiris, if they're not too cloying.

i can't stand rum+coke, though. bleh.

the beau also has made daquiris just by putting organic fruit-juice popsicles (sans sticks) into the blender with juice & rum

1/2 oz simple syrup

DARK & STORMY

2 oz gosling's black seal rum
8 oz barritts ginger beer
ice

HEMINGWAY DAIQUIRI

2 oz white rum
1/2 oz maraschino liqueur
1 oz lime juice
3 oz grapefruit juice

these are my favorite rum drinks

dark rum & lemonade is also very simple and delicious.

i made "authentic naval grog" at a pirate-themed party a couple years ago, rum & water. it was AWFUL.

dark rum & lemonade sounds DELICIOUS

coincidence- i got invited to drink some rum tonight. nothing fancy, though, sadly, even though it was brought back from Jamaica. I don't get people sometimes.

I bought four limes and a cocktail shaker yesterday, and my garden has a healthy crop of mint. I don't have any cachaça...plain old rum will have to do.

ugh guys there was some leftover rum in the house so i made a rum & coke--it's so disgusting. i like rum and i like coke, but i don't know if i can finish this.

You must have done it wrong

One time I wanted to make a Bloody Mary but I didn't have any tomato juice, so I just put tons of Tapatío into some vodka, yielding a gasoline-esque waste of both.

btw this thread is what made me know the Dark & Stormy so thank you v much v dearly, I DIED.

bought mint and limes in order to make mojitos tonight. no it is not particularly warm but i don't care.
