badg, Thursday, 5 June 2008 03:45 (seventeen years ago)

"Latino" is not a race.

Kerm, Thursday, 5 June 2008 03:56 (seventeen years ago)

J0rdan S., Thursday, 5 June 2008 03:56 (seventeen years ago)

Abbott, Thursday, 5 June 2008 03:57 (seventeen years ago)

DOMINGO DOMINGO DOMINGO

Abbott, Thursday, 5 June 2008 03:57 (seventeen years ago)

assuming they even do this its way beneath them based on its sheer stupidity, unless theirs some kind of clever angle im missing like forcing white 20-30somethigns into the 'latino' section

which is prob the case actually

deeznuts, Thursday, 5 June 2008 03:58 (seventeen years ago)

They put the coconut milk there, which in most stores is in the 'Asian' foods section.

Abbott, Thursday, 5 June 2008 03:59 (seventeen years ago)

assuming they even do this

lol what do you think i made this up?

J0rdan S., Thursday, 5 June 2008 03:59 (seventeen years ago)

The produce here is kind of segregated at the Wal-Mart: they'll have all the tomatillos, chilis, cilantro, those sugar cones, all in their own section.

Abbott, Thursday, 5 June 2008 04:00 (seventeen years ago)

its more like awoal-mart for me cuz i dont shop there anymore :)

xp im never trusting you again bud

yea stuff in "Latino Foods" is all non-perishables. shit like tortillas and black beans and salsa etc. no produce tho

J0rdan S., Thursday, 5 June 2008 04:02 (seventeen years ago)

by non-perishables i mean stuff you'd keep in your pantry-- i know salsa perishes

J0rdan S., Thursday, 5 June 2008 04:02 (seventeen years ago)

Dude, I knows, it's up front they split it up too. I mean, I think they'd stick the tripe et. al in that aisle if they could.

Abbott, Thursday, 5 June 2008 04:03 (seventeen years ago)

(In spite of its perishability.)

Abbott, Thursday, 5 June 2008 04:03 (seventeen years ago)

wtf is this stupid thread about? Does going to 8 aisles just to make some chilaquiles or whatever prove some point about racial tolerance?

Kerm, Thursday, 5 June 2008 04:04 (seventeen years ago)

Tortillas are an aisle endcap, tho.

Abbott, Thursday, 5 June 2008 04:05 (seventeen years ago)

They should alphebetize all the foods in a store by name to avoid this problem.

Abbott, Thursday, 5 June 2008 04:05 (seventeen years ago)

J0rdan Salsa.

libcrypt, Thursday, 5 June 2008 04:06 (seventeen years ago)

damn homie-- it's clearly a thread for being bored on a wednesday night i.e. "A productive ILX race thread". im not trying to our wal-mart co. as awful racists, i think they've done that for themselves already

J0rdan S., Thursday, 5 June 2008 04:06 (seventeen years ago)

not trying to out**

J0rdan S., Thursday, 5 June 2008 04:07 (seventeen years ago)

¿Then does yard bird go under 'C'hicken or 'P'ollo?

Kerm, Thursday, 5 June 2008 04:07 (seventeen years ago)

Alphabetized by American name usage.

Abbott, Thursday, 5 June 2008 04:08 (seventeen years ago)

If the 'Pollo Loco' chain of restaurants started making frozen appetizers, those would go in the 'p' section.

Abbott, Thursday, 5 June 2008 04:09 (seventeen years ago)

isn't that xenophobic?

Kerm, Thursday, 5 June 2008 04:09 (seventeen years ago)

should be alphabetized by Esperanto name usage...

Kerm, Thursday, 5 June 2008 04:10 (seventeen years ago)

WAL-MATJALO

Abbott, Thursday, 5 June 2008 04:11 (seventeen years ago)

i think i just solved the obesity crisis

Kerm, Thursday, 5 June 2008 04:11 (seventeen years ago)

kerm did you vote yes or no

J0rdan S., Thursday, 5 June 2008 04:13 (seventeen years ago)

They always put the pinatas above the candy aisle.

Abbott, Thursday, 5 June 2008 04:13 (seventeen years ago)

Everyone can get behind that!

Abbott, Thursday, 5 June 2008 04:13 (seventeen years ago)

I voted the obvious correct answer.

Are you trying to blame that on Mexico?

Abbott, Thursday, 5 June 2008 04:15 (seventeen years ago)

I'm gonna live off of iced coffee the rest of the week. Is that under I or C?

Kerm, Thursday, 5 June 2008 04:16 (seventeen years ago)

Kerm, Thursday, 5 June 2008 04:21 (seventeen years ago)

Can't we just stock salsa under Chicano grub and yuppie condiments at the same time and have peace?

libcrypt, Thursday, 5 June 2008 04:33 (seventeen years ago)

always thought it was ka-razy that they would sell guns n ammo but not cds with swear words

i guess its not that crazy

excellent point. as a kid, our spice rack was alphabetized and once instead of shaking a bunch of cinnamon into my egg nog i ended up with chili powder because i saw the bottle was turned and i saw the 'c' and the color was right so i grabbed it.

tehresa, Thursday, 5 June 2008 05:50 (seventeen years ago)

Is the whole East Coast that hot right now? Because that's... AAAAgh. AAAAAAAAAAAAAgh. I moved 1400 miles from where I grew up to avoid that kind of thing.

kenan, Thursday, 5 June 2008 08:34 (seventeen years ago)

Wait, wikipedia says "Salsa refers to a fusion of informal dance styles having roots in the Caribbean (especially in Cuba and Puerto Rico), Latin and North America."

So what's the problem?

S-, Thursday, 5 June 2008 08:39 (seventeen years ago)

"foods"?

kenan, Thursday, 5 June 2008 08:46 (seventeen years ago)

"Salsa music is a diverse and predominantly Spanish Caribbean genre that is popular across Latin America and among Latinos abroad.

S-, Thursday, 5 June 2008 08:50 (seventeen years ago)

The word "Latino" is not... oh nevermind.
