Our dog, a Siberian Husky, caught, killed and ate a squirrel. We wanted to share this with you.

My dog (half-lab, half-rottweiler) finally got one a couple years ago. Broke its neck with one swipe of his paw. Rigormortis set in immediately, he didn't want anything to do with it after that.

pretty sure he gets fucked over one way or the other.

I've got a cat that has caught a number of squirrels in the past. She played with them for some time then ate some of their innards. She is a fine fine hunter.

The doggy who has actually succeeded in catching a squirrel may undergo a gradual but noticeable change in attitude, sleeping patterns, and even eating habits as the doggy begins to realize that with his life's goal accomplished, all that lay ahead is disappointment and a cold grave. Too well-fed to hunt and stripped of any reproductive capability, the doggy may begin to turn inward, spending long hours alone, perhaps excessively reflecting on his or her life's other goals -- often larger prey, like Cadillacs, something the doggy feels might have been more worthy of its talents -- now sadly out of reach, wasted in the vain pursuit of an anonymous medium-sized rodent with quick reflexes. Attempts to recapture the past, often with an eager but short-lived burst of butt-sniffing and yard-digging activities, only increase the doggy's despondency.

Can it be long before despondent doggy licks the antifreeze spilled on the driveway?

My cousin's cockapoo caught a chipmunk once and was completely baffled so she let it go.
I really think you need to see this right now.
Basenji Square-dancing to Hillbilly Rock, Hillbilly Roll.
Basenjis are the weirdest "dogs." They climb chain link fence and sing.
― felicity, Thursday, 5 June 2008 20:44 (seventeen years ago)
Simultaneously?
― Aimless, Thursday, 5 June 2008 20:45 (seventeen years ago)
my dog is 75% basenji
― gr8080, Thursday, 5 June 2008 20:48 (seventeen years ago)
Oh definitely. Seriously, have you ever seen one?
― felicity, Thursday, 5 June 2008 20:49 (seventeen years ago)
I feel certain I would recall any canines perched on a fence, singing. So, not that I am aware.

We had a dog that would catch and kill full-grown groundhogs on a regular basis.
