I sit in front of a screen showing BBC News 24, sound off, streaming text on the screen designed to tell you what people are saying so you don't miss a thing. It is frequently amusing (if you're as easily amused as I am). Today in a report about a man who may or may not have shot his wife, the solemn gravity of the commentary was slightly undermined:
"They seemed to be a happy family. Just six weeks ago they rented an attractive gnome in a quiet hamlet..."
More tooth hollow.
