What kind of daemon dyou spose you'd have if the His Dark Materials world were real?

Mine would be a land animal, something fairly solitary but observant, perhaps an owl.

Definately an owl as well - a bat comes close but seems to raging for me. I only 'see' (inward and outward) clearly at night, it's where peace be found. Alonish and observant, check. Although sometimes I'm the scared straight mouse chased by the owls though.

My 5-year-old son has carried around a Curious George doll most of the time since he was born. It has become his daemon.

I was totally obsessed with dolphins as a kid, but if you had that as a daemon, you'd have to spend all your time on boats.

Awwww. Curious George daemon is so cute sounding. I have to think about the answer to this for myself. Interesting . . .

How funny! I'm just re-reading these, watched the movie the other day but it was kind of underwhelming, I thought, and oddly paced. Almost done with SUBTLE KNIFE right now. This thread being first in New Answers is sort of reading my mind.

I have to say cat, just because my cats ARE my constant companions. Except for Monster, who moved across the street. But he's still mine! He's just getting better food over there.

Hoos - nothing wrong with Ermine. I just think a chimp would more entertaining and if this companion is going to be with me 24/7 he'd better be amusing.
