Judge in 'shock artist' trial posted explicit material

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A newspaper reports that a judge presiding in a trial about whether a Los Angeles advertising agency owner's extreme fetish films qualify as obscene posted sexually explicit images on his personal website.

Alex Kozinski, chief judge of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, said he thought the material on his website couldn't be seen by the public, the Los Angeles Times reported on its website. The images included a video of a "half-dressed man cavorting with a sexually aroused farm animal," the newspaper reported.

yeah I've been kind of surprised not to see the recent Max Hardcore obscenity conviction discussed here on ILX, but then again, what is there to say? probability that the conviction will stand on appeal seems slight - I really despise the fuck out of Max HC, his shit makes me feel sympathetic to the sort of people who say that extremes like that mean the 1st amendment should be redrafted - but it's the first obscenity conviction in the US in quite some time, and I expect to see lots more on its heels between now and his appeal

(some info on the case here, safe for work though the same is not true of the stuff it links to - images are OK but the words get pretty harrowing)
