I've only heard of GORP as the name of the Trader Joe's brand.

they stuff they sell at Yellowstone shops is so awesome. My favorite had COCONUT, raisins, almonds, and peanuts.

Need those tiny yogurt things that look like minarets.

ones i've had from trader joe's suck, cause they feel the need to "enhance" the flavor of every berry with orange wtf.

a camp counselor informed me that GORP stands for "GOOD OLD RAISINS & PEANUTS" but i am suspicious of such folk etymology

i had a trader joe's one recently with chocolate chips and dried raspberries. loved it.

i think i prefer snacking on quality granola, but quality granola is damn expensive.

GORP sounds like a vomiting sound which is pretty appropriate for trail mix

I beg to differ. The moniker of 'gorp' was first coined in the Pacific Northwest, most likely by members of the Seattle Mountaineers. It stood for Good Old Raisins & Peanuts.

i just discovered that trail mix has fucking candy in it now. when did this happen? when I was a kid this was nuts, maybe some coconut shit, some rasins, and other health food. M&Ms! what I wouldn't have done for an M&M at camp

I'm gonna make my own trail mix.

It shall contain:

• Peanuts
• Cashews
• Dates
• Raisins (golden & regular)
• Dried Pineapple
• Dried Mango

So I went to WinCo and filled up some bags from the bins. I realized I bought way too much mango, and didn't even use a quarter of it. They also had other stuff that looked good, so I added those, and ended up with the best trail mix ever!

current mix:

dried mango
roasted sunflower seeds
almonds
dried cranberries

using the sunflower seeds as a base then about 1/3 as many cranberries and mango chunks and 2/3 as many almonds? p good balance
