Are all current Welsh surnames derived from given names?

What do you mean 'given names'?

Also, what do you mean Welsh? I'm Welsh and my surname is Welsh I suppose, but I don't exactly know what makes it that way.

Given names=first names, or at least what were first names back in the day. English surnames are a mix of these, place names, and descriptive names (and maybe some other kinds I'm not remembering).

Mine's Welsh, and yes it comes from a first name. Based on sample size of 1 your assumption is correct. Close thread.
