South American Administrations

Left a few out - in particular one who only just got elected who might otherwise have been included - but these are the interesting ones to me. Feel free to talk about any administrations not included here. Want to get an idea of how succesful you think changes over the last few years in South America have been, and if improvements are likely to be sustained. Poll seems best way of doing this

Only really know about Morales here - and Bachelet to an extent. Chavez the most controversial and was tempting to leave off list but if dominates discussion then so be it

why not list Uribe? There must be a token anti-socialist on ILX somewhere.

Bachelet v. Lula, if you are going for the non-Lolpresidents. Chavez is increasingly turning into a clown, Morales suffers by association, and sadly I do not know the others.

I expected votes for Bachelet but was hoping someone might have something to say about Rosas or Correa.

Why do you think Morales suffers by association Real Dirty Vicar? While Chavez is contentious as regards domestic policy, what is your opinion of Venezuela's relations with other S.American countries?

Kondratieff, Monday, 30 June 2008 13:21 (seventeen years ago)

You forgot Surinam.

More Seriously why does Cristina Fernández de Kirchner not get a look in?

I presume Kirchner does not get in because she only recently came to power. Or because Kondie forgot her.

While Chavez is contentious as regards domestic policy, what is your opinion of Venezuela's relations with other S.American countries?

eh, no fixed opinion. It's more that because Chav is crossing over from heroic man of the people to being a clownish semi-dictator, anyone who associates with him is tainted with clownish semi-authoritarianism.
