I a girl who is a couple of inches too short or a few pounds too heavy can't be a model, I don't see what chance these girls have.

it is a bit ridiculous, no? like, maybe speak to your career advisor before you be trying to break boundaries

yungblut, Tuesday, 8 July 2008 22:27 (seventeen years ago)

also, none of them seem that keen on modelling - surely a handicap

yungblut, Tuesday, 8 July 2008 22:28 (seventeen years ago)

like more than the missing bits

Didn't Playboy have a handicapped/paralyzed Playmate sometime in the 1980s? I mean, yeah, clearly a few of these contenders are not about to be runway models, but ffs, a lot of modeling is just having your picture taken. Not sure how having a partial arm or leg disqualifies you from that.

i guess people selling clothes - and buying them - don't want the clothes and their wearers to be assocd with stubs, gammy legs &tc. the catalogue stuff these ladies might be suited to is usually going for a look of health/vigour/relaxation, innit?

My friend has three nephews with ectrodactyly--the lobster boy's syndrome.

one year passes...

They are going to show this on BBC America.

Am I right to feel incredibly creeped out by it?
