I'm not much of a tea drinker at all. However, I just started drinking tea with milk in it a couple of days ago, and don't think it's all that bad like I used to. So, I pick tea with milk.
What about you?
― Aja, Thursday, 17 July 2008 04:31 (seventeen years ago)
i love both but tea with milk is surprisingly delicious
i used to do milk and sugar and it was like creamy heaven
― Surmounter, Thursday, 17 July 2008 04:32 (seventeen years ago)
yes with chai but black otherwise
― electricsound, Thursday, 17 July 2008 04:34 (seventeen years ago)
drinking black tea w/o milk messes up my stomach
― velko, Thursday, 17 July 2008 04:37 (seventeen years ago)
I read somewhere drinking tea with milk removes any benefits tea has. Make sense, look at the UK.
― svend, Thursday, 17 July 2008 04:43 (seventeen years ago)
i don't drink tea for its benefits anyway ::shrugs::
― Surmounter, Thursday, 17 July 2008 04:44 (seventeen years ago)
I like milk in black tea, but only a tiny dash. Any other tea: green, jasmine, flavoured - always black no sugar.
― Trayce, Thursday, 17 July 2008 05:18 (seventeen years ago)
Tea with milk is for WEAK PEOPLE WITH WEAK MINDS.
Black tea is the only way to go with that pure tea taste.
― King Boy Pato, Thursday, 17 July 2008 05:42 (seventeen years ago)
xxxpost: yeh, but black tea ain't especially nourishing to the body to start with, so little lost. obviously, it nourishes the soul. jus milk 2 sugars pls.
and none of that nasty-ass royboss tyvm. tea is not supposed to taste like hay.

Well...people with weak taste buds I'd say, and yeah, am one of those peoople...I don't like things with strong flavors usually...
Or would that mean my taste buds are too strong...??? Hmmm..haha
― Aja, Thursday, 17 July 2008 05:54 (seventeen years ago)
no that's complete bullshit, weak strong bla. it's a matter of preference is all =) i mean, i take my coffee black, and often drink tea w nothing in it. but sometimes milk is just the right thing to do.

Something quite funny about Americans discussing tea.

Green tea with a bit of honey starts my day off...
― Finefinemusic, Thursday, 17 July 2008 14:54 (seventeen years ago)
a few weeks ago my mom & her husband were visiting and i had run out of tea, which my mom's husband drinks a lot of, and we were in a semi-specialty shop and so i just bought some Taylors of Harrogate english breakfast tea, which in fact isn't any more expensive than twinnings or whatever, but damn it is so good!! and strong, in a nice way.
i almost always put milk in black tea. tho sometimes i go for lemon & honey, but this is an entirely different kind of tea experience.
― rrrobyn, Thursday, 17 July 2008 15:20 (seventeen years ago)
The first time I ever drank tea was when I lived in the UK, so of course I drank it with milk. I kept up the practice when I moved back to the US but then gradually I stopped, as I came to like it better without.
― jaymc, Thursday, 17 July 2008 15:28 (seventeen years ago)
Milk and sugar, please!
― Laurel, Thursday, 17 July 2008 15:30 (seventeen years ago)
i had catnip tea yesterday! straight up (blargh can't imagine milk in it) it's mellowing
but i still think black tea with milk & sugar is the most comforting tea around
― rrrobyn, Thursday, 17 July 2008 15:34 (seventeen years ago)
catnip tea!! is it really effective?
― Surmounter, Thursday, 17 July 2008 15:42 (seventeen years ago)
it is nice and it is a herb with herbal-medicinal properties probably more awesome if you are a cat tho
― rrrobyn, Thursday, 17 July 2008 16:02 (seventeen years ago)
I'll drink green or white tea without milk. But, I would never drink proper tea without milk and sugar.
― jel --, Thursday, 17 July 2008 16:04 (seventeen years ago)
Proper tea is theft.

I'll sometimes have an earl grey with lemon, or a darjeeling but most black teas I just have to have milk.
― Ed, Thursday, 17 July 2008 16:09 (seventeen years ago)
thinking about the number of cups of tea i've abandoned over the years due the discovery of no milk makes me :(
― Upt0eleven, Thursday, 17 July 2008 16:19 (seventeen years ago)
My flatmate keep soya milk in the house for putting in tea, because he likes it. This is wrong on so many levels.
― Ed, Thursday, 17 July 2008 16:20 (seventeen years ago)
Due to the absence of milk, this proper tea is condemned
― Tom D., Thursday, 17 July 2008 16:22 (seventeen years ago)
Tea with milk for me, with sugar. Now someone try starting a debate on whether the milk should go in first or second...
― snoball, Thursday, 17 July 2008 16:42 (seventeen years ago)
second!
― Surmounter, Thursday, 17 July 2008 16:43 (seventeen years ago)
If the tea is from a pot then the milk should go in first. If you are using a tea bag in a cup then the milk should go in second.
No need to bother, I know...Jel OTM.
― jel --, Thursday, 17 July 2008 16:47 (seventeen years ago)

Yeah, I've been told to put lemon in my tea to make it taste better...and I can see how it might help, but I was told this while drinking VANILLA HAZLENUT TEA....I don't know, but the combination of vanilla, hazlenut and milk sounds much more appealing than lemon...or maybe I'm just crazy...
― Aja, Thursday, 17 July 2008 17:17 (seventeen years ago)
But, I would never drink proper tea without milk and sugar.
I can't imagine drinking black tea without milk. It seems wrong somehow. In fact, I don't know that I've ever seen anyone have it that way.
― ENBB, Thursday, 17 July 2008 17:21 (seventeen years ago)
Cheapo blends aren't nice without milk but a decent darjeeling or assam or english breakfast, mmmm. Course I spoil all this pretense at purity by heaping in the sugar.
― ledge, Thursday, 17 July 2008 17:27 (seventeen years ago)
Most of my tea-drinkin' is green tea, in which not a drop of milk will I sully (just a bit of honey). But whenever I drink earl grey or english breakfast, a touch of milk (and sugar) makes it soooo much better.
― G00blar, Thursday, 17 July 2008 17:29 (seventeen years ago)
i've gotten super into tea with cream (english breakfast)
― Surmounter, Friday, 27 February 2009 14:00 (seventeen years ago)
