ymmv but I think it's a bad policy to date someone you're crushing on. Crushes and dates = two separate categories.

huh...

well I tend to crush on stern and serious workaholic females (no doubt for long-standing doubtful psychological reasons)...

but experience tells me that in reality I find I get bored very quickly of this type of person.

It depends on the individual really. I tend to crush on people who would not be a good partner for me. Kind of odd really. So, y for me.

It's a good idea.

Basically, you get to find out they aren't '100% wonderful' and you get a more reasonable sense of who they are.

It turns the heat down a little.
