Many good eps in this season: Tribbles, The Doomsday Machine (which would get my vote if not for Mirror, Mirror), The Ultimate Computer, Journey to Babel, and the very great "Changeling", probably the most moving Trek episode.

Well for me it's a choice between "The Ultimate Computer" (scientist dude has a breakdown as his computer screws up), "Bread & Circuses" (for the fantastic gaff where Kirk and McCoy discuss the Prime Directive while walking around in Starfleet uniforms!), but it's "A Piece of the Action" because it's the kind of enjoyable fun episode that TNG/DS9/Voyager couldn't pull off.
