(By the way, astronaut ice cream, that freeze-dried “space” treat sold in bags at the Air and Space Museum and the festival’s marketplace? “It’s never been flown” on a space mission, says NASA food scientist Michele Perchonok. “It’s not real.”)

Apollo 7, per wikipedia.

But that's neither here nor Bhutan.

Apollo 7, per wikipedia.

i think the point is that what's sold at the museum isn't what was taken into space

congratulations (n/a), Tuesday, 15 February 2011 20:32 (fifteen years ago)

read a decent book about this woman who went there to teach English, fell in love with Bhutan dude and stayed there (though think she's now living in N America). google says it's called Beyond the Sky and the Earth. Last 1/5 of it is pretty zzz though.

Much of what I know of Bhutan is in the general "increase the gross national happiness" thing, so I was surprised to find out the city I live 9Adelaide, Australia), has a reasonable-sized group of Bhutanese refugees living here. I want to talk to some of them, find out what they fled.
