Maggie Gyllenhaal has confessed that she finds the ocean sexy.

The Dark Knight star admitted that her attraction to water is unexplainable.

She is quoted as saying: "Being around water, and in water, makes you feel so good. The ocean is really sexy, and the wilder and wavier the better!"

The actress, who has a daughter with Rendition star Peter Sarsgaard, added that she thinks it is important to be spoiled by her other half.

She said: "I think it's the job of your lover to adorn you. My boyfriend gives me jewellery and it always looks great. Think about it - this person adores you. This is how he wants to see you.

"This is what he wants to see on your neck, your hand, your ear. A man sometimes can see what you can't. What is unconsciously beautiful or sexy about you is often the most compelling."

She must have a point with that last part, because the way she's so self-conscious about how "unconsciously beautiful" she is to her man is kind of off-putting to me.

i was at this hotel where there was a LGBT conference thing going on a week or two ago & when i went outside for a smoke there were these two guys macking on each other in a really geeky, philosophical way & one guy said to the other "when i go to a forest or something i basically get down on my knees, sexually"

The implication is that if they don't want to see you covered in jewelry, they don't adore you. This strikes me as wrong on several levles, chiefly because it equates romantic feeling with consumer spending, and with the decoration/burdening of women's bodies. I have no beef with people who wear jewelry, but the implication that I (as Maggie's prospective mate) must be a creep if I don't want to buy her jewelry is a total turn-off.

Technically, D.C., she's not saying it has to be jewelry, just that it is in her case, and that it's more abstractly the job of the lover to bedeck you in something.
