I cannot see shit in that dotty circle thing.

Autumn Almanac, Tuesday, 19 August 2008 23:11 (seventeen years ago)

I used magenta and cyan cellophane to see a number and can't see shit. I inverted the colours on my screen (Compiz Fusion pwns y'all) and used magenta and cyan cellophane and can't see shit. Either there is no number or I am truly fucked.

Autumn Almanac, Tuesday, 19 August 2008 23:16 (seventeen years ago)

Or you're color-blind.

Laurel, Tuesday, 19 August 2008 23:17 (seventeen years ago)

Yeah but until now using coloured bits of cellophane made sense of everything.

Autumn Almanac, Tuesday, 19 August 2008 23:18 (seventeen years ago)

!!!!Solution to EVERYTHING!!!! in fact.

Autumn Almanac, Tuesday, 19 August 2008 23:18 (seventeen years ago)

i saw abbott's first response to lorax (cuz it does basically look like a giant green blob) & took a few colorblindness tests on the internet

aced them all, made me feel surprisingly good about myself

it's purely theoretical

-- Aimless, Tuesday, August 19, 2008 9:36 PM (1 hour ago)

I meant theoretical as in, there is a theory I have that there is a solution to everything. And nonbelievers can go hump a fire hydrant.

CaptainLorax, Tuesday, 19 August 2008 23:32 (seventeen years ago)

If there is a solution to everything, what's in the precipitate?

libcrypt, Tuesday, 19 August 2008 23:46 (seventeen years ago)

the answer is nothing.

ice crӕm, Wednesday, 20 August 2008 01:36 (seventeen years ago)

since "solution" implies a problem, and the judge of whether a problem has been solved is the one experiencing the problem, then no, there is not a solution to every problem. you can offer suggestions and responses, but unless you have solved the problem to the satisfaction of the problem-sufferer then you haven't really solved anything. it becomes complex when there is a problem that affects a broad group of people with conflicting interests. and you can offer any old response and claim the crown of solutionmaster general but in all likelihood you're just being an insufferable twat clinging to the notion that there are easy answers to life's unresolvables.

problem: I have a headache
solution: shoot yourself!

problem: my baby won't stop crying
solution: sell it!

problem: racism
solution: suck it up you whiner!

The Big Problem ≠ the Solution
The Solution = Let it Be

Did anyone ever solve the damn 'puzzle' or 'riddle' behind Crispin Glover's album? That phone number no longer works. ;_;

Abbott, Wednesday, 20 August 2008 02:03 (seventeen years ago)

ask me any question and I can give you a solution

Well, congratulations. You almost trolled me into making some personal revelations I know I would almost certainly regret to some degree. It isn't often I've come as close to that on ILE.

Let me just say that I am 53 years old, and I have spent decades working on some particularly intractable problems in my personal life. I am probably brighter than you are and I certainly have much more experience of life in the raw, therefore I already know this claim of yours is egregious tripe.

Take my word for it, the best you could do for some questions I could ask you would be to offer a putative "solution" that exchanged one set of horrendous problems for another set. In some cases, the replacement set might be marginally preferable to the original set, thereby achieving what I already mentioned as a "mitigation" for the first problem set. Better than that you could not do. That is not a theory, btw, but an empirically derived truth.

If you don't mind being taken for a total fool and egregious asshole, then please do not back down from your nonsensical claim, cited above. Otherwise, you might want to rethink your "theory" before someone calls your stupid bluff and makes your shallowness and idiocy even more obvious than it now is.

Aimless, Wednesday, 20 August 2008 03:30 (seventeen years ago)

There used to be a wall (just a cubicle wall but oh how it helped) but now he has moved and there is no longer one. With the wall I could just about let it be. I am so sad about it.

youn, Wednesday, 20 August 2008 05:59 (seventeen years ago)

Aimless, I remember intuiting at some point what at least one of those particularly intractable problems might be, and trying to figure out whether there was a way in which I could express my sympathy and respect without being overbearing about it.

(Perhaps, if I'm lucky, I've just done so.)

Charlie Rose Nylund, Wednesday, 20 August 2008 06:06 (seventeen years ago)

Noted. Thank you. The very fact that you spent any measure of time or effort thinking about me as a person is appreciated.

seven years pass...

As for Animation Factory’s current owners, they love the attention that Dat Boi has been receiving. In an emailed statement, Alison Hoy, the president of Vital Imagery, Animation Factory’s current owner, said, “We are very excited to see the resurgence in popularity of animated GIF images on the Internet, and in social media particularly. A good meme (and who doesn’t love a frog on a unicycle!) can really brighten up your day.”
