Hello! Just teleporting in from WhitLand, where we all have black clothes, brittle dialogue, and private incomes we don't discuss. Well, I have two of these things but must reiterate the following: Champagne lifestyle, beer budget. It's not going to do wonders for my rep by telling y'all that I'm in regular correspondence with Mr. Stillman, as he is writing a SS for the next anthology I'm doing. Nice guy, VERY preppy. Had a meeting with him in Soho and the C4 bods who collected him for the next one asked if I was his girlfriend, which made me squirm.

Stevie T = sharp dresser (if you can make beige work, hats off), acute writer. Was fun at the picnic.

Suzy: I interviewed Whit a few years back and he actually sort of disturbed me. Most of the interview consisted of him asking me questions about whether Chicago's theater locations and public transportation system made it convenient for people in my area to go see the film. I put it down to just being very concerned for the film, but it was still very twitchy and obsessive and non- sensical: he was already giving the interview, so would it really matter even if there was no theater within 500 miles of its publication?

I only mention this because I've spent the last three years trying to figure out exactly why he was so concerned about it . . .
