I miss Wawa. I haven't been to one since they instituted this touch-screen hoagie ordering system, which sounds delightful.

amazingly it hasn't stopped the employees from still fucking up every other sandwich.

i once had an Wawa employee mock my gluttonously topped hoagie. wtf, junkie, you live behind a wall of potato chips, put more more mayo on my death meal.

to be fair i also had one say "daaaaamn, that looks good!" She knew what time it was.

to my utter shame i've been ordering the turkey with light mayo lately for "health" reasons.

i plan on having one more death hoagie around the time of my bachelor party but otherwise i'm retired

hoagie is a super fun word but id feel kinda weird actually using it - took me a while to get used to hero

yeah north of NYC theyre mostly called grinders iirc

regardless of what theyre called and where theyre the greatest sandwich type mankind has ever known and wawas ability to mass produce them on such a consistent scale deserves some kind of congressional medal imo

Just noticed that I am out of dish detergent, thought oh well, I will skip the proper cereal/juice breakfast and avail myself of my usual Wawa emergency b'fast (iced mocha and a hash brown) and had the crushing realization that my new ap't means I no longer have a Wawa on the way to work. Seriously considering getting up 20 minutes early to make this happen even though it's almost four in the fucking AM right now and I desperately need any and all sleep I can get.

A friend of mine is complaining on his Facebook page that Wawas in his neck of the woods (Toms River, NJ) are now making their coffee in large vats -- which, in his opinion, makes them taste worse (the coffee is left to sit out longer making it more bitter, vats aren't kept as clean as coffee pots, etc). He says that he has noticed that the taste of Wawa's coffee has gotten worse at several stores, in fact.

actually, i'm sorry ... my friend lives in Pottstown, PA. he travels to Toms River for work about once a week.

I noticed this at one of the Wawas near me - the large vats are thermally insulated, so I guess it will take less energy to keep the coffee warm. I can imagine a scenario where they just keep topping off the vat and never actually replace it with a fresh batch.

I've been going to Heritages for coffee recently because every sixth cup is free.

I do miss Wawas a little. Hard to explain their mystique to the unfamiliar.

I wish there was a Wawa further west than Lancaster. Both Sheetz and Rutter's are pale imitations of the majesty of a Wawa.

Shit, I lived in Pottstown, PA for 3 months between Royersford, PA and NJ! Place is wack. I noticed the Wawa coffee vats too, but I paid little notice since I haven't really drank their coffee since they got rid of the caramel. With french vanilla creamer, it was oooooohh <3 <3 <3.
