How do you goof off? Who do you goof off with? Where? When? Are you ever past goofing off?

I used it earlier because it fitted the sense of being an adult but playing freely and unselfconsciously (like a child) .Not sure its the best phrase for that but I think I got my meaning across.
in Hull so larkin' might have been more location-appropriate ...

despite the myths that our culture and superegos would promulgate, if there were no "goofing off" in the world, then the entire economic engine would collapse in a heartbeat. the economy is built more upon the fruits of slackdom than it is some strawman notion of protestant work ethic "enterprise".
when the "goof-off" strata begins to crumble is when we really need to begin to worry.
