More metal, less particle board, it seems, competitive prices and pretty decent style for the money. I'd guess more durable based on the construction but I have no real experience with it. Anyone?

I bought some bookends from them years ago on sale. Soooo much heavier and more substantial than they looked! A very good deal.

I don't think their retail prices are low enough to compare to Ikea, though...?

my girl just got a job at the one in soho. go when shes working; they get commission based on the volume sold during their shift

I guess the difference is that CB2 doesn't have shit like $50 desks and $14 coffee tables. But the $150 desk looks like it could conceivably be as good as Ikea's $150 desk, if not better.

I like the vaguley Eamesish desk chairs they have. Not cheap at $199 but cheaper than a lot of Eamesish stuff.

No, it's not always cheap, but they do have some nice stuff. My girlfriend and I ended up with a great CB2 loveseat that we found on Craigslist for half its original price (owner bought two and decided she only had room for one). Also, they have frames for vinyl records for like $15 a pop, which is pretty good.

I have some drinking glasses from there that are pretty nice. Even sweeter is the fun of drawing stupid shit all over their catalog.

The fake Solo glasses

been thinking about ordering one of these: http://www.cb2.com/family.aspx?c=120&f=3793 (no CB2 local, just regular C&B)

The quality of C&B wood furniture is okayish - better quality than Ikea and a much better value than West Elm (which is ridiculously overpriced for veneer, IMO).

Paper-thin, light as a feather drinking cups take us back to lemonade stand days every time we pick them up. But these are handblown chem lab beaker glass with a neat retro ring design. Keep 'em stacked by the sink. This time, we intro a larger cooler.

that is some horrible copy writing!

tehresa, Sunday, 24 August 2008 20:49 (seventeen years ago)

intro is a verb now, eh?
