Herman G. Neuname, Saturday, 30 August 2008 23:48 (seventeen years ago)

My name essentially means "Junior" in Welsh.

M.V., Sunday, 31 August 2008 00:39 (seventeen years ago)

mine is one of the most famous in irish history

harbl, Sunday, 31 August 2008 01:38 (seventeen years ago)

There are currently no people watching this surname.

Not surprising. The 7(?) people I've found in US phone book directories are all known relatives.

joygoat, Sunday, 31 August 2008 01:52 (seventeen years ago)

My name is too boring to be worth looking up.

Millsner, Sunday, 31 August 2008 02:03 (seventeen years ago)

My surname: "it was originally a physical description of a person with a crooked back or limbs, or given the robust humour of the 12th century, the reverse!"

Rock Hardy, Sunday, 31 August 2008 02:40 (seventeen years ago)

I just learned that the feminine version of my name is "Baxter".

Pleasant Plains, Sunday, 31 August 2008 02:55 (seventeen years ago)

Hmm, it is a directory now.

German and Jewish (Ashkenazic): occupational name for a shoemaker or cobbler, from Middle High German schuoch ‘shoe’ + würhte ‘maker’. The sound b was often substituted for v in eastern dialects of German.

dell, Monday, 1 September 2008 19:46 (seventeen years ago)

So your last name is Covvler?

Abbott, Monday, 1 September 2008 19:52 (seventeen years ago)

ha, no

my mom's maiden name is "Collins"

and regarding my last post, my great-grandmother always maintained that the "Schubert" came directly down from the composer

I'll report back after I write my first sonata

dell, Monday, 1 September 2008 19:57 (seventeen years ago)

"Dell Covvler" sounds beautiful, though...

dell, Monday, 1 September 2008 19:59 (seventeen years ago)

There are currently no people watching this surname.

^^ I got that too for both maiden and married names. The fomer is a rare German one and the later a rare Latvian one so I'm not too surprised. Have found some folks with my maiden name on Facebook but they all live in England via S. Africa.

ENBB, Monday, 1 September 2008 20:35 (seventeen years ago)

My name is from the basque for "cold mountain". That's actually not bad.

jim, Monday, 1 September 2008 20:50 (seventeen years ago)

"The WorldNames website is currently unavailable while we perform a major update."

Hopefully they'll update it so I can successfully perform one search. So far I've had no luck!

(German) Occupational - one who processed and sold salt.

Hurting 2, Monday, 1 September 2008 21:23 (seventeen years ago)

Abbott, Monday, 1 September 2008 23:20 (seventeen years ago)

Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 1 September 2008 23:22 (seventeen years ago)
