BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Sunday, 31 August 2008 02:37 (seventeen years ago)

Pretend your headache made a homophobic slur and tell it to get off the property.

Rock Hardy, Sunday, 31 August 2008 02:38 (seventeen years ago)

Headache has begun to recede.

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Sunday, 31 August 2008 03:17 (seventeen years ago)

Tonight I will overwhelm this headache by sheer force of contentment.

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Sunday, 31 August 2008 03:22 (seventeen years ago)

Beers w/bros & Legend of Drunken Master on a giant television will help this subside I think.

HELP

Have had mild cold symptoms for 48 hours (no alcohol in that period), but a killer headache the last 24. Ibuprofen and acetaminophen have had no effect. Moaning a lot and walking like an 80-year-old from the agony.

Dr Morbius, Saturday, 23 May 2009 17:43 (sixteen years ago)

Water. Rest. A bit of a walk outside. More rest and more water. Some soup and/or other good food. Then two glasses of bourbon. Water. Sleep.

Tracer Hand, Saturday, 23 May 2009 18:04 (sixteen years ago)

i was had a bad (pressure change?) headache or two a few weeks ago and warm, winey (good) food helped, plus sleep. hydration is basic.

the dessert speaks (gabbneb), Saturday, 23 May 2009 18:18 (sixteen years ago)

Yeah today was suddenly really warm in London and I think it's the pressure change that's got my head in a vice.

Tracer Hand, Saturday, 23 May 2009 18:21 (sixteen years ago)

hydration is basic

^^u&k - you might also try a mucus thinner, or a warm pack on your nose and eyes to help clear your sinuses

does not sound like a tension headache, which would be caused by your muscles clamping down on your head's blood supply.

Aimless, Saturday, 23 May 2009 18:26 (sixteen years ago)

bourbon is a really counterintuitive way to grt rid of a headache, plus I don't have any in the house -- how bout a couple cans of Modelo?

The back of my neck feels kind of tight, so I guess it could be a tension headache.

Dr Morbius, Saturday, 23 May 2009 23:46 (sixteen years ago)

modelo cans?

modelo is a fantastic beer tho, good lookin out dr morbs

'entertainment purposes' ONLY! (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 23 May 2009 23:54 (sixteen years ago)

yes, we have it in cans in NY, which are easier to carry home from the supermarket when you feel like shit.

Dr Morbius, Saturday, 23 May 2009 23:57 (sixteen years ago)

i'll admit the bourbon is unnecessary and usually just when everything goes really wrong

Tracer Hand, Sunday, 24 May 2009 00:45 (sixteen years ago)

bourbon is counterintuitive in the sense that any alcohol would be, but maybe it would be less so for say a sinus headache in that it might do a little to get you open. while red wine can cause some headaches (if you drink too much? or have a sulfite allergy?), it might help others as a relaxant.

headaches and stiff neck could mean meningitis :-\
High fever, headache, and stiff neck are common symptoms of meningitis in anyone over the age of 2 years. These symptoms can develop over several hours, or they may take 1 to 2 days. Other symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, discomfort looking into bright lights, confusion, and sleepiness.

i'm sure you're fine but i just heard about someone i used to work with who died of this so i looke dit up the other day.

velko, Sunday, 24 May 2009 04:54 (sixteen years ago)

Yeah, I was going to say that if this headache pesists beyond a reasonable amount of time (a few hours), you may need to take it as a possible symptom of something worse. Meningitis is what popped into my mind as an example what could be worse than just a headache.

Aimless, Sunday, 24 May 2009 04:58 (sixteen years ago)

yeah, i encountered that in my Googling. :P

Somewhat abating, but still a fairly restless night. Since I still have mild sweats, an occasionally ugly cough and leg aches too, I'm chalking this up as part of the flu for now. I hope not the swiney kind.

warm, winey (good) food helped

on a fixed income, no trust fund.

Dr Morbius, Sunday, 24 May 2009 13:33 (sixteen years ago)

i believe we have the same income, bro ;). i guess i've got a 'trust fund' of sorts (lol), but it's dwarfed by money i've made on my own.

anyway, my food was free.

the dessert speaks (gabbneb), Sunday, 24 May 2009 14:32 (sixteen years ago)

also I have no fever, no nausea.

Dr Morbius, Sunday, 24 May 2009 16:00 (sixteen years ago)
