Here's an actress who's never afraid to play a miserable cow if the role demands it.

HAT
British TV just can't do dysfunctional "true life" dramas can it?
In America they've mastered the art thoroughly, or at least did do in the eighties/nineties heyday of Brian Dennehy, Cheryl Ladd, Karl Malden, Tyne Daly et al - it was a formula and it was more hackneyed than Stoke Newington Church Street but You Knew Where You Were.
Whereas here it's all those eejits who watched Twin Peaks at an impressionable age, think they're David Lynch and want to make A Work Of Art with insane/illogical last minute plot twists, pointless ellipses etc. and they don't realise that it's trash and should treat it as such.
(then again, those Holby City trailers - are these the most misleading TV trailers ever?)

For the sake of fairness we should start a similar thread on Nathaniel Parker.

Gina is white with brunette hair, medium sized natural breasts, and an average body type. She was born in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, England, UK on Friday, April 14, 1961, so she would be 47 years old

She's very pretty though, when she's sitting there being expressionless*. I have recorded that thing she was in the other night. Can I assume it's not very good?
* except in that hat picture. No-one could look good in that.

I had to turn the sound down on Our Friends In The North whenever she started "acting", i.e. screaming her head off with more ham than Hamfatter.

You remember the first 'condom' advert, the lad buying at the chemist from a short haired assistant, only for the assistant to turn around and oh noe it's a girl...
That was her.

See, what happens is (or, used to..) is when you hear an accent that is from 'home', you tend to take notice. So, I've sort of followed her career progression from TV dramas, through Hugh Grant films, and back to TV dramas.
When I say 'follow', I mean 'avoid the stuff she's in' to be honest.
Of course, the accent is now 'du jour' so all you can do is spot the fake ones from the real ones. like.

It was the Saturday Club man himself - confirmed in the programme notes.

But I still think the best version of Endgame was the one McGoohan and McKern did for TV, except they retitled it "Once Upon A Time" and wee Angelo had to play both Nagg and Nell.

For many years her actual age was a closely guarded secret. Then it leaked out that her official year of birth was 1964. However, as the official year and the actual year of birth are seldom the same in showbiz circles, it came a no surprise that it later emerged the actual year was 1961.
An old schoolfriend was once asked how old Gina McKee was. She replied: "I'm not sure. She used to be the same age as me."
