"American dudes who hate each other as much as they hate the manager", for combining being evil and creating massive future financial issues for the club with not actually winning anything, which at least Roman and the Glazers can manage.

The stickman from the hilarious "xkcd" comics, Tuesday, 2 September 2008 16:36 (seventeen years ago)

I'm going for the pissed off fat bloke.

At least most of the others are willing to chuck some money about, if they've got it.

I can't think of anything interesting to say about Phil Gartside

His comments on replacing Allardyce with Sammy Lee were fun:

1454: Last but by no means least is Bolton v Newcastle, where Sam Allardyce returns to his former club. Earlier in the day Wanderers chairman Phil Gartside played down the significance of that. "It's only as important as the other 37 games," he told BBC Radio 5live. He also added that scandal surrounding Allardyce in the transfer market was "causing damage" and said the club had "got stale". Welcome back Sam.

Abramovich is in bed with Putin so hard not to pick he

blueski, Tuesday, 2 September 2008 16:40 (seventeen years ago)

Yeah but Abramovich has a blondish beard!

jel --, Tuesday, 2 September 2008 16:40 (seventeen years ago)

I'm also fairly certain Jeremy Peace (West Brom) has been a dick to someone once, but I'm not sure who. I think it might be Wolves' chairman, in which case it doesn't count.

William Bloody Swygart, Tuesday, 2 September 2008 16:41 (seventeen years ago)

Voted Fayed but wish I hadn't now as he do add to the public stock of harmless amusement.

Noodle Vague, Tuesday, 2 September 2008 16:41 (seventeen years ago)

I can't hate Abramovich, he reminds me of Tim Roth.

Noodle Vague, Tuesday, 2 September 2008 16:42 (seventeen years ago)

I guess the boro bloke would be the best. He has stood by Gareth Southgate.

jel --, Tuesday, 2 September 2008 16:43 (seventeen years ago)

As a human being Abramovich is undoubtedly the worst, but as far as doing a shit job for the club goes, it's Hicks and Gillett hands-down.

Matt DC, Tuesday, 2 September 2008 16:43 (seventeen years ago)

Yeah Steve Gibson seems a likeable guy, which is a shame really cos I hate his club loads.

Noodle Vague, Tuesday, 2 September 2008 16:45 (seventeen years ago)

Newcastle seem the worst run club to me

blueski, Tuesday, 2 September 2008 16:45 (seventeen years ago)

I quite liked Thingy from Hull when I saw him on Football Focus as well.

Matt DC, Tuesday, 2 September 2008 16:45 (seventeen years ago)

I used to hate boro too, but now they have Mido (who Spurs should never have sold). You can't hate a team with Mido in it, he's just awesome.

jel --, Tuesday, 2 September 2008 16:47 (seventeen years ago)

for crimes against humanity - Abramovich (Abu Dahbi boys dark horses, who knows?)
hubris against own club - Ashley
abject, expensive failure - Hicks/Gillett
least likeable personality - Levy
failure to hilariously sink own club - Lerner

Roberto Spiralli, Tuesday, 2 September 2008 16:48 (seventeen years ago)

Are Newcastle particularly badly run in pure administrative terms? It was my understanding they were profitable and not in ridiculous amounts of debt etc. They don't seem that badly run if you overlook sacking the manager every five minutes and maybe letting their most valuable player get away on a free.

Matt DC, Tuesday, 2 September 2008 16:48 (seventeen years ago)

But football is not a business!

jel --, Tuesday, 2 September 2008 16:50 (seventeen years ago)

They paid £8m for Jean-Alain Boumsong!

ailsa, Tuesday, 2 September 2008 16:57 (seventeen years ago)

That was Freddy Shephard though. Other honorable mentions - Sir Alan Sugar, Ken Bates, Thaksin Shinawatra, That Dude Who Broke Leeds. But I still hate this guy the most:

Give him a top hat and mutton chops = evil mill owner.

jel --, Tuesday, 2 September 2008 17:01 (seventeen years ago)

Peter Ridsdale is awesome for his work at Leeds imo
