My six day stay in hospital was enough to convince me that i should redouble my efforts to keep on the straight and narrow. I'm definitely staying within the law now, for to be incarcerated at Her Majesty's Pleasure would be just the worst. Just six days without going outside was enough to drive me CRA-ZEE (burble, burble).

So has anyone here been detained by ze authorities? Spent a night in the cells? Maybe done a bit of time?

Well when my friend was in there he said he heard some guys two cells over making a ruckus. Two cops hoisted up their belts and mumbled something about "taking care of those guys".. cops disappear from view in neighboring cell and sounds of punches and shouts are heard... then everybody in cell is witness to cops pulling two guys out of their cell, one by his HAIR, additional boots to the ribs, etc. And they're just in there for smoking a joint, drinking from an open container, etc. They can't believe they've just seen this. Then the polis come over and tell everybody they're putting them in the same cell they just dragged the two guys from. Everybody gets the willies, but what're you going to do? So they throw everybody in there, it's a larger cell, and it turns out nobody's been shaken down or anything so one of the guys has a PIPE and some ANGEL DUST and offers to everyone... this of course turns half the tank into raving lunatics so the cops have to come back, crack more heads... everyone who's left is drooling staring at ceiling... my friend was there for 14 more hours.

I was in a much tamer drunk tank, everyone was SO drunk that they were unconscious or immobile. In fact, when they kicked everyone out at dawn (withou charging anybody) nobody wanted to leave. They gave us coffee and clementines.

He's an aspiring rapper that went to UC Davis, angry and lost... knows too many people, cares about too few of them. Since he's such an aggressive driver, he's been pulled over several times for speeding, tinted windows, lacking a license plate, etc. etc. and then he'd be found with bags of weed and shrooms on him. Somebody also tipped the NARCs off about him and they stormed into his apartment, trashed everything, and found some more illegal substances there. His lawyer is also dealing with another friend of mine who is currently facing the law for embezzlement.

In high school, a friend of mine dropped acid on new year's eve and decided it would be a good idea to go to the steak house where he worked as a prep cook and tell the head chef exactly what he thought of him. He can't remember exactly what happened in this confrontation, but co-workers later told him the police were called and he ended up handcuffed to the brass railing of the salad bar banging his head against the sneeze guard. He spent the night in jail and said it was pretty jovial in the holding cell, being New Year's and all there were a lot of amateur detainees and a good sense of solidarity among them.
