Movies Lines That Sum Up the Audience's Feeling at That Moment In the Film:

"I don't think w're ever gonna get out of here..."

Tracer Hand, Wednesday, 3 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

And feel free to slam this piece of shit movie.

Tracer hand, Wednesday, 3 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

It looked like a good concept, I thought.

Sterling Clover, Wednesday, 3 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

So did Cuba.

Tracer Hand, Wednesday, 3 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

The director of The Game come up with something utterly uninteresting? Oh say it isn't so! And BTW, wild horses couldn't drag me to a showing of Fight Club.

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 3 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I like David Fincher and Jodie Foster, and I still have no intent to see this one. The concept sounds like it would be interesting for ten minutes maybe.

Vinnie, Wednesday, 3 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

But "Fight Club" was great and has Ed Norton in it.

Dan Perry, Wednesday, 3 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

(I sound like Otis, hee.)

Dan Perry, Wednesday, 3 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Most exciting scene = 30 seconds where Jodie Foster's looking under the bed for her phone.

GOD, it was boring.

Tracer Hand, Wednesday, 3 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Boring? BORING?

I don't know this place anymore.

Daver, Wednesday, 3 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

TH, according to the box office, the nation's audience of sheep don't agree with you: last weekend, it made something like $31 M.

According to the commercials, it looks like they've taken first-rate actors like Jodie Foster and Forrest Whitlaker, and whistled, "Hey you, need some quick cash"?

This film wouldn't appear to scare 10 yr old kids....but then, tis what you get allowing a video director to create a 2 hour flick.

Nichole Graham, Wednesday, 3 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

What is all this anti Fight Club nonsense. That movie was a bag of fun with a surprisingly good turn from Bradd Pitt and Meatloaf's tits. And it was very very funny. It just had the misfortune to come out about a month after The Sixth Sense.

Pete, Thursday, 4 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

You people are crazy. WHY would people WANT to see a 2-hour flick that is essentially a PLAY where most of the action takes place in ONE ROOM? No, really, I'm serious - I'm amazed this thing is making money. Glad, too.

And, really, if you want a movie to make bucks, you don't tab Jodie Foster & Forest Whitaker for lead roles.

Daver, Thursday, 4 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Worked for My Dinner With Andre. Or did it?

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 4 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh dear, the director of The Game? I had no idea. Oddly enuf, this struck me as "oh, one of those game-type twist movies" but hopefully less stupidly testosterone driven. ah well.

Sterling Clover, Thursday, 4 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh, I liked it fine. Not the most chilling, edge-of-my-seat suspense film I've ever seen, not by a long shot, but I wasn't bored. Also, Jodie had very few annoying tics, she even (sorta) revisits her wiseass teenage acting style for a few minutes. Liked Forest, the daughter and Dwight Yoakam, too. Dwight's such a great villain. Poor Jared Leto, though. Once again his pretty face gets terribly maimed.

And it's a Fincher film, so the opening titles are beeyootiful.

Arthur, Thursday, 4 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Ned, that's INCONCIEVABLE!

Daver, Thursday, 4 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I do not think you know the spelling of that word.

Dread Pedant Roberts, Thursday, 4 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I clearly said to BLAVE (meaning to BLUFF).

Daver, Thursday, 4 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

That movie was a bag of fun with a surprisingly good turn from Bradd Pitt and Meatloaf's tits.

I will never be able to think of "Fight Club" with fondness again...

Dan Perry, Thursday, 4 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i like when threads about bad movies turn into threads about good movies!

ethan, Thursday, 4 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

maybe i should just download this film then instead of giving my 5 quid to Fincher. It looked good on paper though.

Lee, Sunday, 7 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

That's where it should have stayed. Arthur I'm so very disappointed in you. Jared Leto did the WORST Gary Oldman impression I've ever seen, and I've seen a few. I don't care how cute he is! If he's going to fume and ramble and gibber and not even realize that KILLING THEM means they WON'T GET THEIR MONEY--EVERYONE in the theater was yelling at him about that because the movie was already so boring we'd turned against Jodie and kid, and were rooting for the bad guys... HINT for Fincher: next time, remove ONE breathtaking gravity-defying camera shot and add one scene with good acting/dialogue. big dividends, david.

Tracer Hand, Sunday, 7 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

six years pass...

Panic Room is such a daft film. Why doesn't she just let them have the money, maybe in return for a small cut? She didn't know it was there, she's not losing anything.

chap, Monday, 9 June 2008 19:07 (sixteen years ago)

it's been keeping me awake since 2002.

banriquit, Monday, 9 June 2008 19:18 (sixteen years ago)

the 3-disc dvd set was pretty classic though. david prior rocks.

Gukbe, Monday, 9 June 2008 19:20 (sixteen years ago)

But "Fight Club" was great and has Ed Norton in it.

Strange how times have changed. Now the concept of a film having Eddie in it makes me run for Meatloaf's tits.

Are you referring to Jodie Foster and the film's producers?

Alfred, Lord Sotosyn, Monday, 9 June 2008 19:21 (sixteen years ago)

(Same for Jodie. Ek, she's horribly lame these days. Case in point, that last film, I forget the title, The Brave One?)

lols it is kind of classic for sheer overkill. way more extras than zodiac!

banriquit, Monday, 9 June 2008 19:22 (sixteen years ago)

panic room isn't too shabby, just nothing special. zodiac is great, though.

omar little, Monday, 9 June 2008 19:23 (sixteen years ago)

Brave One was really pretty awful; expected much more from a ceratin Taxi Driver alumna
