10 Reasons Why I Love Pauly Shore001. The movies “Jury Duty” and “Son In Law” were some of my first favourite-movie-evers. I still laugh out loud to certain parts from all of his movies, but these two especially.
002. He has aged extremely well. He takes care of himself by eating healthy and exercising, and even though he’s 40, he still looks great. I’ve felt his biceps, believe me, he’s in shape.
003. He always makes time after shows to come out and sign autographs/pose for pictures with his fans. This is how I got to know him so well, because I was patient and wanted to speak with him last - that way I could say more than just “hello”.
004. His stand up is 50% new material, 50% amazing old material. He has some stand-up routines that just never fail to bring the laughter, but he also changes his nights to fit current events and world news.
005. He has made me a part of his routine. He has a bit that he does about meeting people off Myspace, and talks about me (how we met, embellishing it for comedy) and, when I’m there, asks me up on stage.
006. He asked about Chloe when she ran away for a week in 2007. I went to down to Kentucky for a show of his and he was genuinely concerned about me and my cat.
007. He can make fun of himself but he’s also sensitive. There’s nothing worse than a person who can’t laugh at themselves, except for a person who is also completely conceited. Pauly knows his career has plateaued, and he uses that for material, but he also takes it to heart when people don’t like him, which makes me love him even more for being soo human.
008. He makes it a point now to talk to me before AND after the show. I’m no longer obligated to hang out afterward, because I always get his attention before the shows even start.
009. He has been amazingly nice to my friends. Buying drinks, introducing us all to other comics and his friends, and letting us on his tour bus to watch “Natural Born Komics” before it was even released.
010. Because when I see him, and he looks at me knowingly and says my name, I can feel my heart swell up and my palms get sweaty. Because after 15 years, I still get butterflies and I still laugh at his jokes and I still completely totally adore him and have incalculable amounts of respect for him.
