DORF ON GOLF

Anyone else remember this series of videos during the mid- to late-Eighties? Tim Conway as a dwarf on a golf course, with lots of attendant sight gags. If memory serves me correct, these videos were pretty insanely popular for reasons that escape me. Maybe because of the then-novelty of VCRs and home taping?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 19 February 2005 22:49 (twenty years ago)

As a vehicle to make fun of people who were short or had accents, presumably.

I tried to watch a whole episode of the old Carol Burnett show on Nick at Nite a few months ago, and couldn't do it. Recklessly unfunny.

Mr. Eternal Character Actor, that one. The role I always remember him best for is one of the Johns in Buckaroo Banzai.

"Nice morning, huh?"
