and if not why not?

mark s, Tuesday, 9 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I dunno. I just saw 2 mins of it (in between multiple exposures to funeral cortege spectacle) and mused to sister: Has anyone ever watched this? Does anyone even know wot it is?

Ellie, Tuesday, 9 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Context please.

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 9 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Utterly superb and hilarious comedy drama just finished third series (about family who win the lottery then lose all the money), which like ellie says, no one seems to have watched or talked about...

i saw first ep at t's, we both larfed non-stop (obv), then i tried to turn all i knew onto it, but could NEVAH REMEMBER THE TITLE

w. the grate Amanda Redman as the mom (she wins the money in the first place and doesn't tell the rest of the family because they are all twats, bascially); peter davison is her husband

mark s, Tuesday, 9 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

It is on ITV, right? Unfortunately ITV is usually such unmitigated shite that I never watch it, and in doing so miss the odd diamond I think.

Ally C, Tuesday, 9 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

it was; it just finished

yes i think this was another reason no one knew to notice it

mark s, Tuesday, 9 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

The trailers for it were always very offputting. That and the ITV drama stigma (Cold Feet = Cold Sick).

Andrew L, Tuesday, 9 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

FCUKING HELL MARK! Exactly!!! I watched it for the first time yesterday! The childbirth scene was the best thing EVAH - about to drop the SPROG the lady goes into mad Hawaiian hallucinations, there are lesbians a go-go, a MAD WOMAN abducting people taking them to the moors, someone who accidentally robs a bank whilst drunk - WAS IT LIKE THIS ALL THE TIME?!

Emma, Wednesday, 10 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Watched the first series and enjoyed that but the second just got too silly and I had to stop watching it. Also known as the Ally McBeal effect.

I saw an episode of this the other day while I was trying to work, V was watching it. I ended up putting my headphones on super-lod to drown it out, it was just unmitigated shite.
