Student essay that referred to either 'sop' or 'sap' opera throughout. 'Eastenders is currently the most popular sop opera'; 'Neighbours is an Australian sap opera'. Like the one that explained the theory of the great psychoanalyst Freudian Slips in dense (if not accurate) detail this week, quality of writing otherwise suggested that these were genuine mistakes, rather than pranky maneouvres for unveiling a deeper 'truth' (or reflexive irony, in the Freud one).

just remembered another one as i've just been in The World's Most Boring Meeting and was trying to hold on to my SANITY by thinking about ILE... i know, i know. well when i was at college we were doing DH LAwrence and all that lark and i wrote an essay which concluded with the words (pretty much): "... the more apocalyptic aspects of Lawrence's wok."

then had a fit of hysterical giggles in class as i spotted the mistake and started thinking of how DH Lawrence's Chinese cooking was so bad that it LITERALLY destroyed the world, heheh...

Every time I have to type account / accountant etc I end up typing acocunt / acocuntant. This is quite bad as I work with a bunch of them.

My business teacher used to abbreviate Stock Exchange as S/Exchange. Inevitably one day someone noticed it said Sex change due to the slash being wiped away or something.
