I am currenlty contemplating shooting out my teeth. I think my migraine attacks are now located in my mouth. Maybe if I wait long enough they will move to my ass?

why, do you like the idea of flossing your anal folds?

mike hanle y, Saturday, 13 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

my front teeth - which are constructed of special high-density plastic - are held up with titanium screws that were surgically implanted into my mouth. (my teeth look normal) i am bionic!

keep yr teeth! it took $15,000 of surgery to bring mine back after an accident i had.

geeta, that is totally *awesome*......I actually want to have someone whup me so I can tell your story to people.......but yes, i was surprised to find how your teeth are like tuning rods connected to your dome.....when I had my teeth whitened last year they were ultra- sensitive, and whenever I used my headphones, every drum hit stung my molars like a bitch.......

I am currenlty contemplating shooting out my teeth.

Yo, PROVE IT.......just kidding....get well soon sister.

I've had also had really terrible toothache for the last couple of days. Along w/ Nurofen Plus (mmmm...codeine...) I've been using clove oil to numb the pain. My flatmate was v. sceptical abt the value this stuff has as anything other than a placebo, but he couldn't find anything on the interweb to debunk it. My argt was that Laurence Olivier uses it 'Marathon Man' - good enough for me!

Andrew L, Saturday, 13 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Clove oil does work a bit but the best thing to rub on yr teeth is whisky.

RickyT, Saturday, 13 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

yr flatmate is an idiot andrew L: clove oil REMOVES PAIN!!

coffee gets rid of migraines....a tibetan wisdom worker once told me, over the radio, 4 am....me?

Queen G, Saturday, 13 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

The only thing I pH34R (except men not born of woman, of course) is the migraine - mine go up my neck, across the top of my head before travelling down into my front teeth, leaving a trail of pain across my head and making my eyes feel like they're slowly pushing their way out of their sockets.

DG, Saturday, 13 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I have extreme migraine attacks as well. But I fear this is yer *normal* toothACHIEbreakieACHE. Ladies and Gentlemen I am floating on Nurofen. On monday when I am at th dentist, I am gonna grab that needle and stab it in my skull.

Nathalie, Saturday, 13 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

yes. clove oil --> active chemical component eugenol ---> proven analgesic + anesthetic in several studies

the eugenol is also part of the reason why clove cigarettes numb up mouth when smoked

ie you are right , andrew, & yr roomie is wrong -- as proven by science!

I get migraines and coffee does absolutely nothing. What's the prescription medicine? The one you inhale? Does nothing. Fistfulls of over-the-counter medicine? Nothing. Migraines incapacitate me completely for at least 24 hours, and nothing works besides just drawing the blinds and waiting it out.

I once complained to my dentist about my "rattling" teeth. I thought they were faling out. "Do you have a buzzing sound in your ear?" My reply was yes. "Anxiety, that's all it is." LOL

Nathalie (stevienixed), Sunday, 7 March 2010 15:46 (fifteen years ago)

i have a major dentist/dental phobia and i am definitively going to change dentists after this experience. he was extremely conservative with the novocaine and kept asking me to "tell him if it hurts."
dude, i don't want to tell you WHEN it hurts -- I WANT IT TO NOT HURT. dnw shooting nerve pain through my skull over and over and over again.

figgy pudding (La Lechera), Sunday, 7 March 2010 15:49 (fifteen years ago)

also, nice to know I already had it in 2002. But I think it was sth to do w my nerves in the fronth teeth. Had to go back cause I have this thing inherited from my dad where the nerve splits in two. lolol

LL, just say you need more than usual.

Nathalie (stevienixed), Sunday, 7 March 2010 15:53 (fifteen years ago)

I always need some more and I tell him. Asshole doesn't believe me that the new drugs give me migraines at times. "No, not possible; only the old ones can." ARGH

Nathalie (stevienixed), Sunday, 7 March 2010 15:56 (fifteen years ago)

I have told him over and over about my issues and he always blows it off and reminds me to relax. He's just not listening to me/hearing me at all.

figgy pudding (La Lechera), Sunday, 7 March 2010 16:03 (fifteen years ago)

Fuck him then.

Nathalie (stevienixed), Sunday, 7 March 2010 16:17 (fifteen years ago)

Jesus christ, what a jerk your dentist is! I would say "no más" too.

How to Make an American Quit (Abbott), Sunday, 7 March 2010 17:48 (fifteen years ago)

Yeah, I'm going to find a dentist who specializes in people who have problems with dentists. I think I'm at that point where I'm a special-needs patient :-/

figgy pudding (La Lechera), Sunday, 7 March 2010 18:10 (fifteen years ago)

one month passes...

today should be the final day in my root canal odyssey
getting the final filling installed and a routine cleaning

this will be the end of my relationship with this guy
do i have the rights to take my xrays?

I don't know about your xrays but you should be able to feel, okay, not "good" about a dentist but not terrified/repulsed about it. You deserve that much.

I finally found someone really soft-spoken and gentle and slow-moving as a dentist, and I will never go back. When you're comfortable enough that you can sleep through the second half of a root canal, you know you're in the right place. (Disclaimer: that tooth had been abscessed years before so all the nerves were dead and shriveled and gone, which made the experience a lot easier, actually.)

wasting time and money trying to change the weather (Laurel), Thursday, 29 April 2010 16:33 (fifteen years ago)

after appt yesterday i am...gasp...all better. it wasn't that bad, but he still just does NOT understand that it's not PAIN that i'm afraid of; it's having a machine inside my head making a lot of noise. i'm afraid of the pain too, but that's not entirely it.

anyway, this tooth is ok now. i feel like celebrating.
