give us a child before they are seven....

Maybe its not that common , maybe its about as common as teachers and scout leaders ?

It's no surprise really is it? Forbid them from sex for ever and ever (amen) and then sit back and watch how a contorted relationship with sex takes root and comes out the other side skew whiff.

catholic priests are sexy.

di, Monday, 15 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

in fairness to Catholic priests, I think most of them are not child molesters.

Dan Perry, Thursday, 1 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Not least for the straightfaced use of the words "fine babe"

Matt, Thursday, 1 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Amazing, how many priests are there in this world and your focusing on how many of them?
Even better, did anyone care when Newfoundland had this problem? Nope, it took a CBC movie before even a small number of people cared. Yet no big stories on The Canadian Catholic Church Faith Shaken and crap like that. I guess Newfieland is too far for MSNBC, ABC and even FOX to send their reporters.
Happens all the time, probably less the scout leaders or school teachers. Heck all the rage in Canadian papers is finding stories on female teachers accused of molesting male students. or writing them "steamy" letters.

I think that the church would have fewer problems of the sexual kind if celebacy was no longer called for in its` preists.
The church encourages large families in its` members, no matter how poor these families are, banning contraception to ensure this.
The fact that this maintains an ongoing input into the churches collection coffers,I suppose has nothing to do with it!
The Vatican being one of the richest states in the world, check the Vatican banks assetts!
Now if the preists were allowed to marry with the same demands of large families, then the church would have to pay more out for the upkeep of these thousands of extra liabilities of children and wives.
Altogether not exactly a religeous doctrine!
But then I am very cynical

Although you cannot spell, not even for toffee.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Tuesday, 17 December 2002 16:55 (twenty-two years ago)

So does one spelling mistake, which could not be corrected after "submit" was pressed, invalidate the whole observation?
A system used by politicians to avoid the larger issues!!

Bern, Thursday, 26 December 2002 18:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh no! Bern you made fairly reasonable points but now I am giggling because in an ideal world this next post would have said "one spelling mistake?"

nabisco (nabisco), Thursday, 26 December 2002 18:07 (twenty-two years ago)

I spotted three! And then there were the apostrophes. But no, of course it does not invalidate anything. Liz is the next Virginia Bottomley.
