i saw this, and i thought it was trite, basically a vehicle for winona to do her thing. it wasn't awful, but i wasn't in the mood for a disneyified hybrid of one flew over the cuckoos nest and thelma and louise.

i agree.

cherrysqueak, Monday, 15 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Its rub.

But then Winona Ryder is rub. And hence a WR vehicle is bound to be rub. Right?

Pete, Monday, 15 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i liked the movie I saw it a long time ago so its not fresh in my mind tho. I remember thinking that although Ryder had top billing, it was really Jolie's movie. Also, a good performance by the excellent Ms Brittany Murphy.

trash....i mean whoopi and winona....and then what's her face got an oscar - what the fuck?

Queen G, Monday, 15 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

ryder and jolie should be banned.

START LIZ WURTZEL FAN

You guys just don't get it. If you had EVER for one day in your PRIVLEDGED LIVES had experienced manic depression like everyone involved in THIS MOVIE had, you'd fucking get how brilliant it is. Why don't you just go away and live your happy lives, depression is all about acting exactly like these girls.

END LIZ WURTZEL FAN.

Ally, Monday, 15 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

"privileged lives" have nothing to do with depression, though, bipolar or otherwise.

geeta, Monday, 15 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

also i would argue that there are other people on these boards who have been diagnosed with depression or manic depression, who didn't like "girl, interrupted". i mean, i don't think there is a direct correlation between experiencing something for yourself, and having to approve of (insert movie, book, etc here) because it dealt with that issue.

geeta, Monday, 15 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

ally is being funny,me thinks....

though I remember in the psych clinic, wurtzel was 2nd only in popularity to nick cave's and the ass saw the angel - there is a lesson for us all in that.

Queen G, Tuesday, 16 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

The book Girl, Interrupted was a lot better than Prozac Nation. Then again, Brittany Murphy's voice mail message is probably better than Prozac Nation.

Justyn Dillingham, Tuesday, 16 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

yeah i wasn't dissing on ally's post - in fact i dug it! her depiction of the typical liz wurtzel fan was so spot-on that i had to say something, just for the sake of arguing, and also because i don't like wurtzel.

GRL INTRPTD=suXor!!!
wnn rydr=wnkr!!!

man, i suXor at this. where is mr k-rad when you need him?

geeta, Tuesday, 16 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I hate Winona Ryder's voice. I really, really hate it. I hate most of the characters she plays and I hate her public persona thing. I think she is a total, total, total babe though.

toraneko, Tuesday, 16 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

she has eight chocolates in mouth at once when she speaks = she is total babe

Tracer Hand, Tuesday, 16 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

BUT DID SHE PAY FOR THEM?????

Queen G-bah Humbug, Tuesday, 16 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

no = even babe-ier, yet why do i want to claw at her in fillums rather than cuddle?

Tracer Hand, Tuesday, 16 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Because you're a rough boy, Tracer. Whether this is more in the ZZ Top or Pete Townshend sense I leave up to you.

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 16 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Ned you R kerrrazy bad, you're nationwide

why isn't Ally calling me; we R supposed to have lunch.

Tracer hand, Tuesday, 16 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

When she does, ask her to e-mail me when her Krazy Life slows down some.

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 16 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Ned I never got the chance. My stomach won the battle. I will tell her later; however, timely satisfaction will depend on whether there is unblocked interweb access at DISNEYWORLD.

Tracer Hand, Tuesday, 16 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

one month passes...
I wouldn't mind having a pic of her boobies.
