taking sides: "the wrong door" vs "how not to live your life"

surely one is just a bit better than the other one.

the wrong door sounds like a one time only thing, how not to live your life sounds like constant self abuse

"The Wrong Door" is awful but doesn't have the guy who is "How Not To Live Your Life" in it, so it's better.

i think there are some great sketches in the wrong door. i like that its whole raison d'etre is "let's do wacky stuff with computer graphics".. it's very ernie kovacs. dinosaur boyfriend and 'who wants to be a superhero' are both great. the same cannot be said for the quality of the actual computer graphics, unfortunately, which undermines it a little. they lean on it too much. "njarnia" was a brilliant idea but when you realized every gag was going to be an "unexpected" bit of computer graphics it sputtered.

as for how not to live your life i like the guy in it a lot. it's very very very very "indie" though.

Never heard of either of them. I only ever watch arty BBC2 dramas where Rhys Ifans gets cloned 900 times.

The Wrong Door isn't even just a sketch show, it's just an excuse to show off the BBC's CGI budget for the year. Which I suppose is a step up from the BBC showing off boobies (Tittybangbang and The Real Karen Taylor) or that they occasionally hire one black person (Little Miss Jocelyn).

How Not To blah blah suffers from exactly the same problem as every other British comedy show for the past seven years, which is not twigging that unpleasantness alone isn't enough to make comedy.

i'm guessing MeeBox was better than both of these shows and that's WHY a full series was not commissioned.

MeeBox wasn't commissioned because it didn't "fit BBC3's demographic", apparently. Same as Mr Biffo's sketch show.

it's slowly dawning on me that the only reason i watch "how not to live your life" is the asshole boyfriend, who is the best asshole boyfriend i can recall seeing anywhere.

i can't believe bbc three even bothers doing the news in the first place. 60 seconds is impressive!

i've now decided i hate these shows
