I really loathe the embarrassing blog that is Jezebel; I think that's the closest I've read to this.
Bah I've read tiny nibbles, too...that shit is just boring.

At least sex bloggers apparently get to retain their eukaryote status.
I remember reading belle de jour and diary of a call girl a bit, probably after someone posted them on ILX, and finding them compelling for a short while but then rather depressing. I do see the appeal, though.

^^^this is creeps as well. You can't mix in tales of your exciting and wild sex life and then randomly talk about your anti-depressant intake. We're not gonna compartmentalise.

The london paper "thelondonpaper" has a sex blogger called Andy Jones whose column I stumbled across last week. It seemed to consist of using a fake tan subplot to support the fact that he, "thelondonpaper" columnist Andy Jones, had once again had a vigorous all-night (and all-morning, as he helpfully specified) sex session with a "truly beautiful" lady. And then, instead of using his sex blogging authority to helpfully remind her that she shouldn't use fake tan, had merely left her with a kiss, demonstrating both tact and sensitivity, not to mention a romantic streak. Sex blogger Andy Jones thus left us in little doubt that he has regular sex, and is not shy to blog about this in "thelondonpaper".

The web site "ilxor.com" has a sex poster called Louis J4gger whose post I stumbled across last year. It seemed to consist of using a truth or dare subplot to support the fact that he, "ilxor.com" poster Louis J4gger, had once again had a vigorous all-night masturbation session with a three other dudes. And then, instead of using his sex posting authority to helpfully remind us that we shouldn't play sex truth or dare, he had merely tossed another dude off, demonstrating both tact and sensitivity, not to mention a romantic streak. Poster Louis J4gger thus left us in little doubt that he has regular sex truth or dare sessions, and is not shy to post about this on "ilxor.com".

this is true. i heard a nasty rumor about one of the bloggers, too. the bad part is, based on the blogging, it is most likely true. :(

I was gonna say - isn't this just one more way in which women are demonised for their sexuality? While at the same time never being allowed to climb outside the box of it?
But then again, maybe it's only women who get allowed the freedom to blog about their sexuality. Because let's face it, Louis got a much more massive public smackdown for writing about his sexuality on ILX than any woman who's ever done the same thing. (Unless, of course, you talk about menstruation.)
I don't really know.

it is, kate; did you watch the ch4 doc? the sex bloggers were eventually witch hunted by the tabloids who tried to track down the ladies behind the anonymity
but I'm not saying they are the most disgusting savages in all the world imo - I just don't understand the appeal

I agree with you. But as a local garda I am a staunch catholic. People discussing sex openly probably disgusts me for that reason even as I try to pretend I have other reasons.
― Local Garda, Sunday, 14 September 2008 11:20 (seventeen years ago)
I see, see, for a while there, I thought that you might think that they were the most disgusting savages in all the world !!!
Do you like to read them, Cozen?
― the pinefox, Sunday, 14 September 2008 11:25 (seventeen years ago)
I don't have a telly, so I can't documentaries unless people tape them for me. (And usually that's only Brian Cox specials on Horizon.)
About the witch-hunting, I feel like saying "Oh for gods sake, it's only sex, stop making such a big deal out of it!" It really bothers me the way women police other women in that way, though I understand the origins of it.
Mine own view is more along the line of... jaded middle aged woman who's just, well, *bored* of the emphasis placed on sex. I prefer reading blogs about a variety of subjects. But sex is like the lowest common denominator interest that everyone has, so everyone's interested in it, in a way that not everyone is interested in reading blogs about dronerock or particle physics or whatever.

That doesn't answer the question. Nor, indeed, does it have anything to do sex blogging. Though I did see a local policeman (an actual policeman, not one of those community officer people) who looked incredibly like Gareth on my street yesterday.
So I shall leave you with a nice picture of a Napoleonic era naval officer...

I get tired of them doling out the same advice over and over. I hate how they keep focusing on lacking confidence and hooking up rather than actual relationship chemistry because in our modern world that doesn't seem to exist and it's good enough if you settle.Yes, I'm bitter because I'm living in an area where good men are hard to find, why'd you ask? :P
