Drive-Thru-Diet® is not a weight-loss program. For a healthier lifestyle, pay attention to total calorie and fat intake and regular exercise. Taco Bell's Fresco Menu can help with calorie reductions of 20 to 100 per item compared to corresponding products on our regular menu. Not a low calorie food.

wow, what pieces of s. what a professional tone their pr ppl encouraged them to take. edgy, man, totally in keeping with their brand. they should have had the letter coming out of a thought bubble from poochie.
you know that neil hamburger joke about how kfc comes in a bucket so that you have something to throw up in after you're done eating it? taco bell sort of skips a step-- most of the items on their menu already look like vomit. what is a mexican pizza from there other than a tortilla topped with what you almost stepped in next to the tilt-a-whirl at the county fair? plus they sell something called "bacon cheddar gordita crunch". yark. why do they even bother pretending that their food is something other than...garbage? remember when they had those advertising campaigns specifically targeted at ppl w/late night munchies? what a bizarre campaign. i mean, stoned/drunk young ppl will basically eat anything, the more disgusting the better. they should just go full-on, like that toilet-themed restaurant in taiwan
that being said, i have eaten at taco bell many times and enjoyed its strangely alluring disgustingness. sometimes that bizarre craving comes up. my main beef (pun not intended) with them is how expensive it has become to eat there. oh, also their selling dead tortured animals... ok, they are pretty much indefensible. pasolini was right.

Still, even with higher prices than before, it's the cheapest of the ubiquitous fast food franchises. I can still make myself full (including soda) for under $5.

faint praise but taco bell is tastier and probably cheaper than US public school cafeteria food, and maybe even healthier?
but c'mon you can get an actual taco for like 25cents more than a taco bell taco. it's a quarter! just one less game of galaxian.

the real scandal for me is that according to their own allergen alert page, their fruit slushies are prepared on the same equipment that processes fish, shellfish, tree nuts, eggs, milk, wheat, and soybeans. are Taco bell employees making themselves crab and hazelnut milkshakes on their downtime & not sharing them with the public!?

― earnest goes to camp, ironic goes to ilm (pixel farmer), Friday, 28 January 2011 18:43 (fourteen years ago)
it's not that. to me it's more like, ok, you walk into a taco bell not expecting anything like you'd get from a real taqueria. that's fine... but, it's not, even like, one step below that, or two steps removed, it's just its own weird entity, like if you were to go to djibouti and try to order pierogies-- you'd get like, mashed bananas in a teff rollup or something. which is fine, and would probably be really good. but taco bell was born in america, home of tex-mex, etc. there's no excuse! you can make crushingly good burritos, tacos, etc., for super-cheap that wouldn't be the weird sludgy messes that are taco bell's calling card

Your first mistake is confusing Taco Bell with tex-mex or any Mexican food dishes in general. There was a time long long ago when they resembled such an establishment, but they don't even claim it's a run for the border anymore.

The ads risk putting renewed attention on the concerns about the filling, Marconi said.
Taco Bell should taking a more grass-roots approach, said Laura Ries, president of Ries & Ries, a marketing strategy firm based in Atlanta. She also suggested a video showing how the meat is made.
"This is a problem that is very difficult to solve with words alone," she said. "It needs pictures."

The Crunchwrap is usually $2.79...this is a promo/sale.
Still don't understand how the server wage remains legal, btw, but that wouldn't apply to anyone at Taco Bell (or any other fast food place). That's just for sit-down full service restaurants.
