Not touched any of this shit since I was at uni. Seem to remember tomato being edible.

i'm still a lazy "packet food" eating get at 27.

They only seem to stock Chicken & Mushroom at the Tesco Express down the road. Eh. Edible enough if you're lazy. Luckily I am.

if your local "pound stretcher" has these on a three for a pound offer, you can get all your dinners in for the month for a tenner.

Local Garda, Tuesday, 16 September 2008 00:11 (seventeen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

There is no excuse whatsoever for eating pasta with curry-flavoured sauce.

Matt DC, Sunday, 21 September 2008 23:07 (seventeen years ago)

yeah, that's a bit of a weird one...

No no all the fake cheese sauce ones are the most rank.
Why are some '... flavour' and some not? Suggests these are automatically worse (ie presuming 'chicken and mushroom' has some chicken, and mushroom, in; whereas 'chicken and roasted garlic flavour' suggests mere chemicals).

Creamy Tikka Masala

this sounds like the most vile shit

akm, Monday, 22 September 2008 01:43 (seventeen years ago)

Jesus, why doesn't this shit have a biohazard warning on the packet?

Tasmaniac (SeekAltRoute), Monday, 22 September 2008 03:15 (seventeen years ago)

there was a big 'this line has been discontinued' where these used to be in the local sainsburys. i normally have the carbonara given that it's vegetarian and doesn't require milk. that said, i prefer the mushroom and wine but haven't seen it for a while.

koogs, Monday, 22 September 2008 09:12 (seventeen years ago)

The fake cheese sauce with the broccoli is pretty good, if you like processed cheese, which I do.

Processed cheese belongs on burgers and toasties and nowhere else.

Carrie Bradshaw Layfield (The stickman from the hilarious 'xkcd' comics), Monday, 22 September 2008 09:41 (seventeen years ago)

Certain kinds of packet mac and cheese have the same kind of sauce, I don't know what it is exactly but it's hella moreish. On the other hand I basically have sectionable addiction to cheese in any form so other people's mileage might vary.

Processed cheese does not even belong on toasties. Rule of thumb for toasties is the stretchier the cheese the better. Processed cheese just melts in a really sloppy way. Fine on burgers mind.

Matt DC, Monday, 22 September 2008 11:26 (seventeen years ago)

for some reason processed cheese is better on burgers than the proper stuff. like when you go to some wannabe gastropub and stick a big ol wedge of cheddar on your burger, it's just not right. toasties? proper cheese all the way, tho.

Tomato flavour. Again, haven't touched this stuff since I was a student. It's a bit pricey though - those Blue Dragon noodles are/were way cheaper (they used to be twenty pence each).

I would like to echo Noodle Vague's inexplicable weakness for processed cheese.
