It possible also helped that their route from Mexico City to the coast was pretty much identical to the one I followed towo years ago.
2) I fail to see the growth at the end of the movie. The final scene is just a tack on so the director can reveal the BIG shocking secret (which is supposed to explain why this semi-intelligent woman would bother hanging out with these two, but mostly just annoyed the folk I saw the movie with--obvious, trite, contrived again).
3) The movie and their trek is gorgeous looking.

$20 says this is remade as an American movie and it will be awful. Somehow the boys being Mexican makes them that much more interesting. As a U.S. flick it would turn into American Pie meets Kids. Which would be terrible.

The ending of Y Tu Mama Tambien was unbelievably lame. It wasn't so much that the secret being revealed itself was lame, it was just the way it was done.

I liked 95% of "Y tu mama..." but I do agree with Nick's observations.
I've never taken part in any wanking contests, nor do I know anyone who has. Which makes me think soggy biscuit is an urban myth.
