Bland tolerable temping options...

I'm waiting to find a job and have one in particular I think I've a strong chance of getting, but the interview isn't till October.

Anyone got any simple tolerable temping ideas? Something to do with journalism would be good but failing that just something I can do for a few weeks to keep me making money while I wait to hear back from jobs I actually want!

Although depending on yr journo experience, you might be able to swing some subbing/copy editing work.

shit Ronan, thought you were still working in Tunbridge Wells

They're a '90s odd couple. And an odds-on choice for laughs. (blueski), Thursday, 18 September 2008 13:37 (seventeen years ago)

No it was scheduled to finish after six months and I didn't get another BBC job. I can apply for other internal BBC jobs for the next year but not sure I want to anyway, have a chance of a job that suits me more but just need to make some cash until I hear about it.

Are there any websites or agencies that people would recommend?

Journo work:

pfj.co.uk: twats, will get you work
kppublishing.com: nice people, will not get you work

Otherwise, stick to Office Angels. Sometimes they buy you sandwiches.

Call centre positions often involve a couple of weeks training (a doss), then a week or two in the job, then you can quit!

i spent a couple of months with an agency, taking notes at universities for deaf students and the like. it was great. 100X better than data entry/call centre

maybe a ward admin job at a hospital? get to talk to nurses. plus no actual IT/clarical experience necessary (or so it seems)
