above: vague rendering of a short legged jumpsuit i bought at savers for $4, but have never worn. it is purple and wooly. i'm not sure whether it was intended for real life or whether it is a cast-off from the set of a scifi tv show. either way, i'm sorry that i've never worn it, but it is a bit short in the torso, and a bit chokey around the neck as a consequence... damn.

I always think everything I buy is the best item of clothing I have ever bought then go off it about a month later. So current best = shocking pink silk see-thru floaty lovely top.

A very shiny red skirt that I bought last year and only now have a top to wear with it. It is the best because it is shiny. And red.

In terms of the orgasmic pleasure they gave me at the time of purchase (circa 1992): glossy, shiny, royal blue Doc Martens. Now despatched to DM heaven ie. Oxfam.

An Iron Maiden t-shirt featuring the cover art from 'Can I Play with Madness' c.1988.

I was thirteen alright?

A black short-sleeved button-up shirt with two grey dragons duelling on the front. It is my BLING shirt.

Dan Perry, Thursday, 18 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I fear the power of the bling.

I have a few lurvly black button shirts I adore (sans dragons) and other such things -- though generally I get 'em as gifts.

Certainly not my gold Gucci shoes. I wasn't on drugs. Nor drunk. So why did I get them? Probably cause I was on holiday. My best piece must be my Anna Sui skirt. Had it for ages. *turn off fashion victim mode*

A pink and green caftan. Or maybe it was a mumu. I gave it away when I moved to LA from NY cause it was getting too, you know, clingy.

Hey, guess who's in the office today? Julian Casablancas! He just walked up the stairs from the cafeteria. Julian's got a big old ass! He looks really sweet.

Black wrinkle-as-design button up or my decaying chess-board-of-rust dress shirt.

Showing my age, but a classic leather jacket - Marlon Brando in The Wild One, Velvet Underground, Ramones style. Brando became my ideal male physically in that film. I know I don't look remotely like that, but it's still my idea of the best clothes available.

Julian's got a big old ass!

Time to revoke his Rock Membership Card.

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 18 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Black silver and pink jacket.

Sterling Clover, Thursday, 18 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't know, Ned, on the other hand he does have one of those too-big-for-his-body style heads, which is rather rock, no?

I bought a Nehru jacket about 15 years ago. It was my anti-papist jacket because of the (Ian) Paisley lining. Ha!

I still have it and will never part with it.

which is rather rock, no?

Means he's his own Spitting Image puppet!

My mom bought me some Isaac Mizrahi black & white polka dot kitten heels in February. They are great - they are my size (11) and they were on sale ($50). Unfortunately I have neither the courage nor the wardrobe to wear them.

They will make their London debut when polka dots come back in, or when I lose 10 pounds.

My other favorite piece of clothing is my winter orange Dolce & Gabbana (sp?) coat, which I was too fat to wear over this past winter. Again - another sale purchase.

My other favorite piece of clothing is a Elefant Safari t-shirt that my friend Temina threw away. It needs surgery on the armpit holes. I have my moms old Girl Scout t-shirt which is great too!

my favourite tshirt : it's red with a nazi-looking eagle & "german- american police assoc est 1975"

I guess I'd have to vote for my biker jacket as well; at this point it's about 18 years old and is looking kinda rough... I dread buying a new one and spending a few years breaking it in though.

Sean, Thursday, 18 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

(& it was a "fill a bag for 2 bucks" item too)

I have a red corduroy jacket that fits nicely despite the fact that I've put on a couple pounds. The dreamy guy at my coffeeshop once called it "smooth". I'm still floatin' over that one.

I also have a neat army looking backpack. I've had it since 7th grade (I'm now in my 2nd year of college). Yet I've never carried it because I don't think I'm cool enough (and I'm probably not).

a dress in brown camouflage print with silver lurex, with a chinese collar and a little open bit around the neck. it was quite seventies when i bought it - puffy sleeves, huge cuffs, full length, but a friend altered it for me so now its short-sleeved and barely covers my ass. i only wear it out for very special occasions.

A long-sleeved, dark-brown Andrew Christian T-shirt with lettering in exactly the same color (or possibly it's clear lettering, but you can't see what it says unless you look REALLY closely), which reads as follows:

assimilate

Me is increasingly of the opinion that Di is a honey.
